Super User Root beer Posted March 3, 2013 Super User Posted March 3, 2013 Les Miles is trending on Twitter that he will be stepping down as the head coach of LSU because he had an affair with a student. Stay tune on Monday!!!!! This would make Alabama 3-peat a lot easier. He was a mediocre coach with great assistants, manly Chavis....In my opinion.

Super User Root beer Posted March 3, 2013 Author Super User Posted March 3, 2013 Wha?! I'm not making this up... It all over Twitter that he rumored to step down Monday due to an affair with student.. Key word is rumored but still....... Now I'm ready for Monday..
Super User Root beer Posted March 3, 2013 Author Super User Posted March 3, 2013 Again, it just a rumor and it could be completely false. It could be started by a d-bag Alabama fan or it could be completely true. I truly hope it wasn't the former.

This is big.

Super User Sam Posted March 3, 2013 Super User Posted March 3, 2013 By the way, Root Beer, if the rumor is false I would think it would be fun to start a rumor about Satan. We could say he is a nice guy and it is a pleasure to work with him and everyone on his staff loves him. Now that would be a great rumor to start.
Super User Sam Posted March 3, 2013 Super User Posted March 3, 2013 Root Beer, of course the Twitter post is probably a false rumor. Dandy Don seems to think it is false, which I concur. So far no press conference has been scheduled. Missysippy State probably started it to help them with recruiting now that Ole Miss handed the cowbellers their head this year. Here is Dandy Don's post. If I receive any updates I will let you know. Can't wait to see the rumors Tennessee will be starting about Alabama! Time for spring football is upon us. "I’ll start this update by briefly addressing the rumor that started spreading like wildfire last night about Les Miles, only because so many of you have asked me about it. In case you haven't already heard, a rumor started on Twitter yesterday concerning LSU scheduling a press conference for Monday to announce that Les Miles will be stepping down because of an inappropriate affair with a co-ed. I don't think there's any truth at all to the rumor, first because Les Miles does not strike me as that kind of man, and secondly because I don't think LSU would have been entertaining three prospects from Karr High School yesterday if it were true. That's all I care to say about the unsubstantiated rumor at this time, other than I hope LSU issues an official statement to dispel it soon."
nick76 Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 I have to laugh at the "Les Miles does not strike me as that kind of man,". This is the same guy who Gary Moeller punched in a bar after he found out Les was cheating with his wife. Kind of ironic if it is true. If it is true, that means three SEC coaches who have been rumored to have affairs will have now stepped down. Petrino, Miles and Meyer; although Meyer said it was due to health concerns as he went back into coaching the following year.
TheKingFisher Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 Wow, we're not getting our news from twitter now are we? SMH. I refuse to adopt the use of twitter, I've seen some of the stuff on there and it definitely made me stupider! Yes, I said stupider, see what I mean. 1
fadetoblack21 Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 I did a search, and you're right. Dadgum! Will have to see how it sorts out, but still. This is big. I also did a search, and it appears that the rumor was started by a student reporter from Western Kentucky . . sounds a little fishy if you ask me.

Is this the continuation of another rumor, Or do have proof that this really happened...as stated???
nick76 Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 Is this the continuation of another rumor, Or do have proof that this really happened...as stated??? The proof about Miles and the affair, it is very well known throughout the Michigan Alumni base and was even written about in the book by John U Bacon title Three and Out. So as for first hand knowledge, I would say no, but as for historical data that has been written many times over by multiple high profile authors I would say yes.
sbfishySC Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 Did I miss the Monday press conference? Did it just go by so fast with that "SEC speed" ?
scrutch Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 I think he's on some weird drugs too... What a goof.

So, basically, because a bunch of people said it and wrote about it...it's true. Just spent some time on mgoblog.com, and even the Michigan fans on there can't agree on what happened. I am not a fan of the rumor bus...in any case.
nick76 Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 Look, I am not trying to get into a ticking match. I believe what was written by a respected journalist and University of Michigan historian. He spent many hours interviewing all involved and many more. If you choose to believe that is not enough evidence for you, then so be it. Based on John U Bacon and his writings, what I have heard second hand from some major players in the football department and Alumni associated with situation I am choosing to believe it. As an Alumnus myself, it is not flattering to hear but the truth is better than pushing it under the rug. Best of luck to you.
Super User Sam Posted March 6, 2013 Super User Posted March 6, 2013 Les Miles is from Michigan. People from Michigan speak funny unlike us in the South. He learned to play and speak from his Michigan football coach, Bo. That is why he likes to run the football and sometimes gets "lost in the translation." When President Clinton strayed a little, James Carville, an LSU grad, asked why everyone got upset when a guy gets a little poontnag? Of course Miles is a strong family man and would not stray, at least not down South. People in the South, unlike peopel in the north, have shotguns. Conclusion: the rumor is false. (Hope you liked the humor)

I tend to be a skeptic, and therefore, you and I will have to agree to disagree. Best of luck to you as well. I certainly did not wish to ruffle any feathers. I have found your posts in the past to be well written and insightful. No hard feelings I hope.

Super User Sam Posted March 6, 2013 Super User Posted March 6, 2013 Wow!!!! Where there is smoke there is fire. I guess it did not happen at LSU so nothing will happen. Thanks for the discussion. Interesting to read.
