Super User slonezp Posted March 5, 2013 Author Super User Posted March 5, 2013 What's a boat like that set someone back? $40k? They start at 35k with a 150 and single console, and I'm sure could top 60-65k fully loaded with a kicker motor. Minus the electronics 45k, but I got quotes as high as 52k. I gues I'm fortunate that Lunds are quite popular around here and I had many dealers to shop and compare pricing. Quote

Must have an understandable significant other...More power to ya...I could only be so lucky although she's hinted that once the little one isn't so little a nice deep-v fish-n-ski could be in our future... Funny you bring that up. While at the boat dealer talking with the owner and listening to her tell me it's a stupid idea I said to her "You don't want to marry me. It's my money and I'll spend it how I want." Mind you we've been together 18 years. When I picked up the boat, I went alone and the owner brought up my that conversation.from earlier in the week. Apparently in all his years in business, I was the first person he's seen, who ever said that to his woman. Right or wrong, it's my money. Her issue is me fishing on Lake Michigan. She knows I'll be out there more often now that I have a bigger boat. She's just a little paranoid l'lI head out fishing one day and won't come back. Part of that is my fault. I pay attention to all the boating/fishing accidents on the waters I fish and tell her about them. There are more fatalities on my home lake, caused by intoxicated boaters, than on the Chicago lakefront caused by the weather. Her perception of the risk is skewed by the vastness of Lake Michigan. RyneB Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 At least you had the balls to bring your lady. I just showed up at our house with a boat, wife was very surprised. It was the boat monkeys fault though. Quote
Super User Teal Posted March 6, 2013 Super User Posted March 6, 2013 Wow, guys. My wife went one step further than yalls. A few years ago, i looked at a boat here in town that was owned by a very respected bass fisherman. The 1996 Javelin 400TE was still in near perpect conditition and had a 200 Johnson that was immaculant and ran great. He wanted 7500. He was trying to sell it fast because his wife was really sick and needed money. I drove it twice with the guy but i couldnt quite bite on it no matter how good the deal was. I came home one day a few weeks later and my wife called and asked me to meet her in town... short story.. i passed her on the road pulling that boat. Not only did she buy it, she took him talked him down to 5000. (5200 after taxes tag and title fees) no to mention this was the day before my birthday. Thats the story of my baby...and my wife too. Lol 2 Quote
