How do you guys keep all your different size and types of hooks and all your weights and stuff organized? Do you keep them in the same Plano utility boxes as your worms or do you have small utility boxes just for hooks. I would apreciate some advice.

I use a worm binder bag from BPS. It will hold most of my plastics and all my bullet weights and all my worm hooks. They all have there own seperate pocket that is seperate  from the binder bags.

I used to do that, until opening the box during a downpour resulted in rusting the hooks.  Now I purchase a bunch of "minature ziplock" bags at the local craft store.  They have a bunch of different sizes and are cheap.  I now place my hooks and wieghts in those, and THEN place them in my Plano.

This keeps the moisture out, makes it easier to organize, and keeps them organized.  I can store more that way too.

I am  all about the fto tackle organizers. to stop the rusting problem buy some Inhibitor rust chipps and place them in the bottom of each tray they will stop the rusting.

A nice cheap way to keep hooks organized is to put them on a saftey pin. Each pin has a different size and then you can put them in a ziplock. When you need one, just unhook the pin and slide one off. Cheap and easy, I like that for fishing for a change.

For general storage I have separate Plano boxes for all my soft baits (I like the Shimano plastic cases for hard baits).  Separate boxes for hooks (in their original packages) and another for weights. When I'm fishing live bait on the river, I have a small, hard plastic Plano box, it's the little gray & blue box that opens on both sides.  This little box has compartments for weights, hooks and three-way swivels.  I carry only what I plan to use, generally two sizes of circle hooks,  shiner hooks and two sizes of split shot.  On the other side,  striper hooks and 3-way swivels. It's neat, compact and I only take what I'm going to use, plus a couple extra.  For pond hoping I pack a Plano 12 X 8 that fits nicely in the back of my fishing vest.  It has several divided sections and I  carry (1) Senkos, (2) Kut-tails, (3) Ika and (4) gizits in seperate slots. Another slot is divided in half, hooks in one, weights and beads in the other.

Snag, I like the safety pin idea, especially if the hooks get wet, you can quickly dry them all at once without losing any!

Over the years I've seen lots of disappointed anglers who let wet tackle and tools remain in boats. About two days in warm weather in all it takes for rust to set in in a dark storage compartment.  Even today's bass boats will occasionally have a water retention problem which will damage tools, tackle, and other equipment.  Remember to raise the hatches to let that dry air in, and take tools out of materials like canvas that really hold water.

I have a couple of the BPS storage bags with the little zipper compartments. They look neat but it's hard to get individual pieces out of them, especially sharp hooks.

Hey Pilot, thanks for the link for the organizer. I just ordered one. Should come in handy this season.

No problem.  I've had pretty good luck with the spinner bait box as well.  I've never been able to keep the spinners organized effectively (being able to see all of them and not have them tangle) until I tried that Falcon box.

I use Plano boxes and cut the magnetic sheets you get in craft stores to fit the box so the hooks won't fall out...You have to do something when your in a craft store with the Mrs'.

I use Plano Tackleboxes and have the hooks divided by size. You can write the size of the hook with a marker how big the hook is. Another trick is to use film canisters for all the different sizes.
