Most of us recognize that Drano is one of the common components in the production of meth... and if you didn't know, now you do.  Most of us also recognize that the people who choose to make meth aren't always the brightest minds.  Case- in- point, 6 people were arrested in Santa Rosa County for their involvement in making meth at an apartment complex. Thing is, there was a child in the home and that child drank Drano. Why?  Because, in spite of a child BEING in the house, these geniuses kept Drano in SIPPY CUPS... the multi- colored, plastic children's cups that all little kids use to drink.  The kid is currently in critical condition.

While this is an extreme case, everyone has accidentally or unintentionally consumed something because we thought it was something else.  My mother once ate pot brownies because she thought they were regular brownies. She had a great night that night.  ("Her friends were sooooo funny!")  And who hasn't gotten a mouthful of cigarette butts or spit because they thought there was BEER in that beer can?  And, if you live in Europe you only recently discovered that you've been eating as much horse as you have beef.  Burger King, IKEA and a truckload of grocery stores there have had to discontinue serving their 'beef' because there's so much horse meat in it.

Smoking, eating, or drinking:  WHAT DID YOU INGEST THAT WASN'T WHAT YOU THOUGHT IT WAS?

Well I dip and had a 44oz fountain cup I was using, I set it down and my wife thought it was her cup. Needless to say she wasn't a happy camper.

This except it was a Snapple Ice Tea bottle.  I guess I just wasn't paying attention.

Not that it was bad just very unexpected but I used to keep my vodka in a water bottle in my fridge in my dorm. Looks like water so during inspections I didn't get busted well I went for a long run one evening came back sweaty and thirsty had my roommate toss me a bottle of water out the fridge.....nothing like chugging vodka right after a run needless to say most of it got sprayed all over the room when it hit me lol.

Glenn, I can relate to your mother since I accidentally ingested pot brownies in college. Maybe the pharmaceutical logo on the container should have been a clue.. I also witnessed my dad grab his spit bottle by accident while driving down the road. Oh, man, it was funny scene except the part where we could have wreck the truck and the boat in the ditch. hah.

Also, we had deer meat in our fridge and my mawmaw, who claimed to LOVE country food only, would never eat deer meat. So, one time my dad and I made meat loaf using the deer meat and told my mom and mawmaw we used mostly beef. My mom and mawmaw said they loved it and had no idea it was deer meat.... *whistling*

I probably shouldn't post this but opium.

Mr roommate back in college told me to take a hit off the bong.

I thought it was just weed. I was high as kite.

Now I can't even stand the smell of weed. To tell you the truth I can see how people get hooked.

I felt like I was flying. Best buzz ever. Never did it again because it was so good it scared me.

A junebug. I was 13, picking and eating wild growing raspberries and blackberries. I saw a particularly large one and I snapped it up and popped it in my mouth. A second later I felt the claw like feet on my tongue and tasted a horrible bitterness. I couldn't quit spitting for the rest of the day.

As a disclaimer, I am no vegetarian. But you guys are missing out if you don't eat Indian, Thai, or tofu. Pass it this way if you're not going to eat it ;)

To be fair I am a tofu, Indian and Thai food snob. There are few things worse than when these foods are prepared badly.

Oh, and if it was Indian food you were eating the cubes were probably paneer (a type of cheese.)

I dunno what it was, paneer or tofu. It was a lunch at a work function, one of the guys said it was tofu but who knows. It was my first and last time eating it, I will stick to scrapple, I know what that is and it is yummy.

My sister gave me a dog treat that looked like beef jerky.

It's not for everybody. Paneer looks kind of like tofu and has a similar texture.

Short version -

While in Junior high - the first year we started switching classrooms each period, 9th grade I think.

I started finding my lunch, which was kept in my desk, most eaten.  I brought it to the attention of the teachers who for whatever reason thought it was funny.  I didn't see it quite that way and needed to find a way to catch the perpetrator, stop the thievery and maybe get a little pay back all at the same time.

It seemed like who ever this was really liked the Italian cold cut sandwiches quite a bit as they were always completely eaten.     So I made up a special one - it was loaded with hot peppers (at the time I didn't realize just how hot as I didn't eat them but apparently, they were pretty hot). The next day, some unfortunate sap was the recipient of an ambulance ride from school to the emergency room.  Oh it was quite a scene.   Never really came back on me as Mr Hungry did give up the fact that he had eaten someone Else's food.  Either way Operation Fry Your Face Off was a big success.

Escargot. My dad wouldn't tell me what it was until I put it in my mouth and chewed, I was 14 or 15. It looked good, so I nervously played along. It chewed like it was made of rubber. Never made it to my stomach.

I've had some pretty exotic foods, but can't think of anything that I didn't really care for.

I can tear up some escargot. I'm surprised you didn't like it. It was hard for me the first time, but after the first bite I was hooked. Uni is another food like that.

On a side note, first time I ate falafel the girl who ordered it waited until I was chewing then proceeded to tell me I was eating bull testicles. It didn't phase me too much, and I still eat falafel.

eskimo ice cream... lard, fish, sugar, and berries  in a blender. It looked like yogurt and the first taste is a little sweet and then the fish and lard hits... only thing I have eaten that I would never eat again.

also, the occasional "bug seed" when youre eating sunflower seeds.

Lets see.

A supposed friend laced a fat sack of refer myself and another friend had acquired with crack. We got him back REAL good when we got back in town. Im not going into details.

When I was in college my room mate gave me a sweet tart covered in lsd. I was quite drunk at the time and had the worst 12 hours or however long that stuff lasted of my life because of that. He got his head shaved and I painted him orange with surveyors spray paint when he was passed out.

It took him three weeks to get the spray paint off.

Ill post some more as I think of them.
