The entire metropolitan area is scrambling to stock up on milk, bread fresh vegetables and canned goods. We may be trapped in our homes for the entire weekend! Quote

plumworm Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 So, your going to get a total of 3/4 of an inch of snow, and 10-15 mph wind and the whole town will shut down. Heck, we would have been shut down since late Nov. up here if that were the case. So far this week alone we had 7 in. in 3 different snow falls and Tue. nite we had 25-35 mph winds and nothing even slowed down. We have had 47" of snow this winter according to the NWS. Have fun and be careful, Sounds like a good time to open a bottle of "sippin" whiskey and hunker down. 1 Quote

'Course I lived in Dallas for years, but a light dusting down here and schools close, or at best delay opening for 2 hours. Though I'm confident and schooled driving in these conditions, the locals aren't, which makes it dangerous. Quote
Super User Sam Posted February 28, 2013 Super User Posted February 28, 2013 I hate when that happens. The storm will be heading to the coast and it looks like us in Virginia and from the Carolinas and into New Jersey will feel your pain. Hope you don't lose electricity and are safe. Quote

We've gotten 16 inches in the past week with 12 of it coming in 24 hrs and for the most part everything stayed open. No govt or school closures. On the other hand, if we got anywhere near the rain you guys get in the summer we'd have major flooding. Quote

Drifts of 1 to 1.25 inches could clog highways for days. Snow fighting equipment is being sent from Florida by FEMA. Drivers are advised to carry a salt shaker in their cars in case they get stuck on a snowflake. Quote
