PotomacBassin Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 Has anyone been on the Potomac lately? I've been out about 3 times just kind of putting around and running the motor. I've done a couple hours of fishing, but the water has been pretty milky lately with the rain. Haven't hooked up yet, but everyone that I've talked to has said it's pretty slow as well. Just wondering if anyone else has been out and how they're doing? Quote
PotomacBassin Posted February 28, 2013 Author Posted February 28, 2013 BTW, water was 44-46 degrees on 2/27 after the recent rain we had. Quote
soccplayer07 Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 wow, that's much higher than I would have thought. Quote
PotomacBassin Posted February 28, 2013 Author Posted February 28, 2013 The marine forecast website that I go to says it's about 39-40 degrees for the past couple weeks and my depthfinder was reporting the same about a week ago. But after the recent storm, it was reporting above 45 degrees on the surface. I don't know if this had to do with storm run off or what. It was muddy as heck though. I don't see how it could have warmed up that fast in about week. Quote

quanjig Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 Tried last Sunday, no luck. Spoils - 41*. Washington channel- 39*. Very windy, thank goodness we were in a buddy's 21' center console! Threw silver buddies, grubs, finess jigs, droppy. Graphed plenty, just no bites! Quote

Threw silver buddies, grubs, finess jigs, droppy. Graphed plenty, just no bites! I was out that same Sunday. Very windy. It was hard to keep my tin boat in one place. It made me finalize my plans on adding a second trolling battery. If I was out all day one battery would've been dead. Nice to be in the water though. I saw 60 degree weather in the 10 day forecast.
