So I got an excuse to buy a few new rods - All the rods I own are LTBs or Mojo's and I have not been disappointed in either one. My question is how does the Rage series fan out (specifically if I follow through with it, I'm going to get either the RS610MXF or RS71MF for shaky heads)

They are very nice rods. Personally , I thought they looked ugly online. But when I held one I was shocked. Light , sensitive, slim.

I took advantage of the last dal they ran and now own three rage rods and am completely happy with them for the price.

I have the 7'1" MF and I have used it for shaky heads and it does a good job. I haven't caught but one fish but it is still cold here but I have no doubts it will perform well given my experience with the rod so far.

Just for kicks, I handled a few Rage rods at BPS last night. Pretty nice. My opinion is changing/warming to them. The grips are nice, although I think I'm still a cork guy. The Avids were even nicer, though. So if I had the $ to spend, I'd probably go for the Avid.

Was impressed with the Daiwa T rods, too. Really light and felt great for the price.

This is the reason I purchased the new 6'10" and 7'4" cranksters.  Next week I'll purchase the 7'8" and I'll be able to get the Rage rod.  I held one at the Classic Expo and talked to a few guys at the St. Croix booth.  This rod is sooooooo light!  It felt great in my hands.  I can't wait to get it!

Spend a few extra bucks and get 2 Avids. I fish almost all St.Croix rods but wasn't impressed by either Rage rods I owned. They felt pretty nice and I loved the handle but the pitching rod I bought broke swinging in a 2lb fish. The epoxy on the fore grip of the spinning rod I bought broke loose and the reel fell off the rod.
