dyerfish Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 Hello everyone, i recently purchased a 1988 stratos 266 f/s, i cant wait until the weather warms up ,so i can clean it up, what do you guys use to get the gel coat shinier, i took a little turtle wax rubbing copmuond to a spot and it looked better,so it doesnt seem like it needs to much polishing, also the carpets are dirty ans some green spots along the edges, what or how do you get them clean ? Super User slonezp Posted February 27, 2013 Super User Posted February 27, 2013 Before using abrasives on the gelcoat I would first start by using toilet bowl cleaner. It should take off most of the scum and watermarks. Use a sponge and wear rubber gloves. Do it in sections rinsing off periodicaly. You can then apply a coat of wax and use BBS each time on the water. Quote
dyerfish Posted February 28, 2013 Author Posted February 28, 2013 Toilet bowl cleaner ? Really,I never heard of using that Quote
Super User slonezp Posted February 28, 2013 Super User Posted February 28, 2013 Yep. Toilet bowl cleaner. If the scum and algae is real bad you can buy a product called Slimeygrimey (sp) Quote
Sfritr Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 Then get yourself some BTS and watch it shine.. http://btsprotectant.com/ At one time they were a sponsor here. Only thing I use on my boat Quote
