coak Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 Depends on what you're planning on using the spinning reel for. You could get a ml or m for dropshotting and other finesse techniques, or you could power up and go mh for bigger jigs, spinners and soft plastics t-rigged. I'm sure that many others will offer advice, but for anyone to give you adequate information we must first know what you plan on using the setup for. I agree with RW on the line choice btw fwiw. I bought me a spool of it in #12 and got a new chronarch on the way I'm ready to give it a whirl but I wanna know why it's a good line? Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted February 27, 2013 Super User Posted February 27, 2013 (1) The line's breaking strenght is SIGNIFICANTLY higher than implied: #6 = 11.9 lb, .010" diameter #12 = 19.5 lb, .0a3" diameter (2) Green is virtually invisable in gin clear water Purple Smoke bends best in stained water (3) The line is very manageable, especially when treated with KVD Line & Lure Conditioner (4) Hybrid is cheap and often on sale. I have a 1lb spool of both #6 & #12 that I bought for around $25. 1000 yards is sometimes on sale for $7.99 Quote
