My buddy planned a trip for us to Lake Okeechobee for this Sunday.

It says the weather should be 63 degrees, 20% chance of rain and a 13mph wind. I think a cold/cool front comes in on Friday or so.

Do you think this is good fishing conditions, he is renting a boat so I would rather adjust it if need be than for him to waste his money and we end up with a horrible fishing experience. I fish from shore, don't know anything about Lake O, if the fishing should be good there with the conditions expected nor driving a boat so Id rather reschedule if we need to.

Any advice from experienced fishermen would be helpful

No if that front hits they''ll be on lock down.

Not to mention its going to be blowing, personally I would change the plans

Always hard to predict weather but a combination of inexperience, a rental and 10-15 wind out of the north is not a great thing on that Lake. You didn't say where you would be putting in at but if at Clewiston and you go I would confine to Rim Ditch or the Dynamite Holes along the Rim Ditch between Clewiston and South Bay. Postponing to a better day isn't a bad idea.

ok thanks, that wind and front was sounding bad off the general forecast I googled...we were in doubt based on the factors involved but 13mph wind didnt sound fun

And you can go ahead and add about 10 mph to that wind forecast. That's been the case nearly ever time I hit the water down there.

I'll be just North of there at Istokpoga all weekend without a choice. Our club classic is Saturday and Sunday. It's gonna be FUN!

I have a trip planned for the following weekend of the 9th. Im hoping all that blows over so we get some consistent weather a few days before i get there. Im renting a boat out of Clewiston. Good luck on your trip whenever you go!
