Super User Fishes in trees Posted February 25, 2013 Super User Posted February 25, 2013 That Boulevard 80 acre beer has wheat in it. Wheat beer doesn't like me. So far at the beer store I've noticed that the New Belgium spring seasonal beer - Dig is out. It is a tasty Pale Ale. Shiner has a new spring seasonal beer - FM 966 Farmhouse Ale. I got a sixer of that a week ago and it is good. Last year, both the New Belgium summer seasonal beer - Somersault - and the Shiner seasonal summer beer - Ruby Redbird were great. When it is HOT outside and you get the Ruby Redbird ICE COLD - that is some great beer. The first two just evaporate, they are so tasty. Another good thing about the Ruby Redbird is that they are aroundj 4% alcohol. You can drink a few of them and not be just hammered. Many craft beers come in around 5 to 6 1/2% or so. I found the Shiner Ruby Redbird to be a great fishing beer. This thread started in reference to Boulevard Beers, I'm not much of a fan of their 80 Acre beer, but the Boulevard Pilsner - their tribute to yard beer, is good. Quote

Hyrule Bass Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 Call me cheap and domestic.. Bud Light. But ill drink anything Domestic,Light, and Cold! i'm the same way, except its regular Budweiser for me, unless im out in a public place then its Bud Light. Otherwise i will drink other domestic lagers and pilsners if thats whats available. I'll try other beers too, but im really not into microbrews and ales and the likes lol. I do like the new Budweiser Black Crown beer, thats about as fancy as i get with beer. Quote
CayMar Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 My favorite is Carona extra with a wedge of lime, but being a dude ill drink about any beer. Not a big fan of dark or heavy beers. Quote
fadetoblack21 Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 Boulevard Single Wide IPA, though I drink my share of domestics as well. Quote
Quitlimpin Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 I like Killians Red for flavor and good ol Keystone Light for getting hammered. 1 Quote
scrutch Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 I don't drink often, but when I do, I drink Blue Moon. Quote
Super User MCS Posted February 26, 2013 Super User Posted February 26, 2013 My favorite is Stone Brewery Levitation. But my other favorite is Shipyard Old Thumper. My favorite stout is bluegrass brewing company burbon barrel stout. Sessions(fullsail) make two great lagers a traditional and a black. Cigar city brewing has a good brown ale maduro and so does our local brew Bold City called Dukes. Sweetwater is has a good extra pale ale, 420 they are outta Ga. Anything Stone, Shipyard, Fullsail, Sam Adams and Serria Nevada are all good with me. hate wheat beers. My daily drinker would be Yuengling black and tan or lager and I will drink Mickey's, busch or highlife if none of the above are available. Super User MCS Posted February 26, 2013 Super User Posted February 26, 2013 Sierra Nevada Torpedo The Cigar City is availble in some stores around Richmond, they have a distributor located there. They make a nice IPA called Jai Alai. And the Alamo tap house and movies in Winchester Va has a nice selection of craft and micro on tap that is where ran across the Bluegrass brewing beer. Quote
tipptruck1 Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 Guinness, Gunness stout, Becks, or Becks dark. I tend to stick to imports when it comes to beer. Sorry 99% of American beer sucks. I have had a few good ones. When I do find domestic beer I like. I can never find it again. If I do find it again. It cost as munch as Guinness or Becks. Quote

Unfamiliar with either of these, but I'll keep my eye out when I'm in that neck of the Virginia woods. There are a lot of micros out there that brew some good beer. Although beer tends to give a man a gut he ain't proud of, LOL. Quote

tyrius. Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 Firestone Wookey Jack and Double Jack Sam Adams Black Lager Dogfish Head 60 Minute Goose Island Bourbon Barrel Stout I also make my own beer and some of those have turned out great. There are a ton more microbrews that are excellent. Six Point, Two Brothers, Three Floyds, and on and on all make great stuff. I can't even drink the Bud/Miller/Coors stuff anymore. Quote
Super User MCS Posted February 27, 2013 Super User Posted February 27, 2013 I forgot about Dogfish Head, they had a reasturant down the street from my office in Chantilly, awesome beer there. Made lunch more interesting for sure. I haven't had any of their beer since I moved. Quote
shootermcbob Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 Bud light...I do tend to overdo it though,,,I probably drink 8-10 beers ..........a year! I know, I know, I need to talk to someone about that, try to get control of myself Quote

tyrius. Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 Rye IPAs are good! Two Brothers has one (Caine and Ebel, I think) that is very good. Have you tried Sam Adams Hopology mixed 12pack? Some good beers in there. Quote
