Friday was a lousy day with my insurance companies, wow. I'll start with what State Farm did. I check my bank to find I'm overdrawn! That never happens. The reason? State Farm took twice the usual amount out! So I go to the agent's office to ask what was going on. The lady told me it was because a 20 y/o was added as primary driver on my truck. It was my step son who lives in another state and hasn't been on my policy for 2 years, and never on my policy in this state. I asked who added him, she didn't know, how he got added, she didn't know, why he was added, she didn't know, why he was put on the most expensive vehicle to insure, she said I guess to get more money. All the while she is pushing buttons on the computer looking at the screen. She apologized, corrected the info, but there was no way to credit my bank account that day. Thankfully I have an account that provides overdraft protection, but I was still charged a convenience fee. She said that my next month's withdraw would be minimal as that is when and how I get the money creditted back. What a bunch of crap.

Then the doctor's office notifies me that my insurance refused to authorize my surgery (today was the surgery date). I have medicare which does not require pre-authorization, but I signed up for Humana's advantage plan, by law and their contract with medicare they are not allowed to prevent treatment. Which I didn't find out until today. I filed a complaint, got special permission to drop the humana plan (which btw is nothing short of a scam) and am waiting to have the surgery rescheduled.

All of this was so unnecessary and aggravating, thanks for letting me vent.

Im really sorry to hear that. That is terrible. I hope things start going right for you. Sounds like you need some "rippin lips" therapy.

Hey it's good to vent from time to time,  there may be a thing or two in there that may help someone out in the near future.

It's a sign of things to come though unfortunatly, I think a lot of us are going to feel this frustration at some point.

Blame it on the computer age, things like this are going to happen beyond our control.

I was a State Farm member for the last 25 years or so, never had any kind of problem with them.  About a year ago I was playing around looking for insurance quotes, I found nothing at the time to sway me away from S.F.  6 months ago I get an email from another well known company quoting me a rate at half the price with a better plan.  I call them and my rate was based on being a senior with a record of being with 1 company for a long time, driving record, and a limited amount of claims where I was not at fault.  Passed the 6 month mark and I get a good driving check in the mail.

When I went on Medicare a few years ago I went with AARP, United Healthcare, I am very satisfied.  My wife goes on Medicare in 3 days, as things would have it she hurt herself yesterday, I may have to take her in today to the Dr or hospital, I know my wallet is going to be a lot lighter, lol, that's life..............

I know how you're feeling.  I had my mess three years ago with my right shoulder.  Insurance wouldn't pay for anything until I went to physical therapy for evaluation.

Trouble is I've already been through PT, two series of injections, oral steroids, etc. Received a letter from a thirdpartyyesterday who actually the ones who denied the claim, lack of radiologic evidence. I guess two MRI'S & CT Myleogram all showing severely compressed nerve root isn't enough. lol

Retired, it is SOP for insurance carriers to place the most unexperienced driver on the most expensive vehicle.

Hope your surgery goes well and you have a speedy recovery.

When I had my vasectomy the recovery was fast. Less than a week.

Good luck.
