I gave it a shot and I almost completely learned how to skip a jig. Man this will be helpfull on overhangs, docks etc.

I didn't catch anything doing it but I've about got it.

One question has anyone ever tried to skip a spinnerbait?

I would think that the bif flat blade might help it skip?

Also,

I did this with a spinning rod, most people probably do it with a bc.

Seems to me that a BC would backlash bigtime. Is that the case or not?

If not what do you do special to not have it backlash?

Good job. It is easier with a spinning reel. It will be a great tactic when they are way back under the docks. Its fun as well. Glad you are learning, keep it up. The more confidence you have in yourself the better fisherman you will become. :)
