je1946 Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 I take my Grandson out & tail hook a live crawfish, put a split shot about 8 inches above it, I use a hula grub on a round ball head jig, he catches 10 smallies to my one, he says to me "grampy why don't you just use these" I don't know what to say to him, but his smile is priceless, so I guess my favorite rig is a tail hooked live crayfish. elkriverangler Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 My Favorite Craw Rigs for River Smallmouth Fishing are a Winco's Predator Craw in MudPie Color or a Zoom Ultra Vibe Speed Craw in Green Pumpkin Magic. I Fish them Rigged on a Mister Twister Weighted Keeper Hook 1/8 OZ with a 2/0 Hook. Quote
flippin and pitchin Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 Yamamoto Hula Grub on a football jig head. The color is no secret, #176. Right Glenn ? Quote

Hanover_Yakker Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 Confidence Baits 1/8oz Draggin' Head jig and a PTL 3.5" Craw D'oeuvre or Texas Rig Jig in Kitchen Sink or Deep Melon Pepper. If they are super finicky then I switch over to the 1/8oz micro Draggin' Head and a Confidence Baits Little Tube in either River Bottom or Raven (Black w/ Purple Fleck). Quote
Super User Shane J Posted March 21, 2013 Super User Posted March 21, 2013 Football jig/Rage Craw. Of course the Rage-Rigged Craw gets plenty, too. Quote
Gavin Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 A tube on a stupid rig, Chomper Hula on a football head with a wire V weedguard, or a beaver bait on a weighted swim bait hook. Quote
Backwoodsbasser Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 How about a YUM crawbug in blue on a blk/blu sk bitsyjig. These are absolutely killer. The crawbug is hollow so I get a jig that has a rattle chamber under the hook shank. I then cut the very tip of the crawbug tail off. And rig it on the hook so tht the rattle chamber fits inside the hollow body. U then have a very lifelike craw rig that even makes the click noise that real craws make every time you move it. Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 A football shaky head with a rage craw on it. This little set up kept the skunk out of the boat Saturday. 1 Quote
