Well, Today afternoon I set the hook on possibly the biggest bass of my life. As soon as I set the hook, I knew I had a giant because it felt like hooking into a tree!!! Anyway, long story short the fish got off shortly after setting the hook. Upon further inspection of my terminal tackle, I found the tip of my hook had rolled over and slightly straighten out. That's not good in my books. I was using Owner Offset worm hooks, granted this is the first time this is ever happen since I've been using them, but this is the first time I've ever had this size fish testing it out. I have used these hooks for a couple of years with out any troubles. I fish with braid and fluoro leader, so I need a stout hook. Gammies and Mustad off-set hooks have failed in the past, except for Gammy super line. So my questions is, what else is out there in an off-set straight shank that can withstand braid??

Suggestions are welcomed!!!!!

Trokar hooks. Expensive but you can shave with them if you wanted to.

X2 on the Trokars but if you are straightening hooks you'll straighten them too. Unless you are flipping thick mats or some other really nasty cover you need to rethink that hook set. It doesnt take an atomic gorilla yank when you use braid. If you are fishing thick cover you need Gammy super line hooks.

Get a pack of Lunker City Texposers. I haven't looked at another hook in years for plastics.
