Super User Jigfishn10 Posted February 24, 2013 Author Super User Posted February 24, 2013 Those things are gonna bounce real far on the ice. Nice job! Actually saw partial open water on Friday. We got a lot of rain today and looking at more rain later in the week and 40* weather...my guess, 3 weeks I can fish somewhere. Thanks for the kind post Derrick! Quote
Super User deaknh03 Posted February 24, 2013 Super User Posted February 24, 2013 John, when rain pools on the ice its not considered open water. 1 Quote

jig Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 just out of curiosity, have any of you guys in ma ever been checked on whether you are using lead jigs or not ? Quote
Super User Crestliner2008 Posted March 6, 2013 Super User Posted March 6, 2013 just out of curiosity, have any of you guys in ma ever been checked on whether you are using lead jigs or not ? In over 50 years of fishing, I've only been approached by an EPO three times! Since the lead ban last year, I don't think any EPO really focused on checking for this - yet. I believe they held off, waiting until enough non-lead product has become readily available. And it appears, after visiting Dick's, that there is plenty of non-lead jigs & sinkers on the shelves now. So don't be surprised if an EPO does start ask to see what you are using. Remember, it is NOT illegal to be in possession of lead...you just cannot be using it when you are approached. Quote
