Brendan Duffy Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 How have you guys done with topwater when the water is murky? Spooks, buzzbaits? Is it effective? Quote
florida strain Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 Yes it can be effective at times. I prefer a spook, rattling chug bug, bang- o- lure, in that situation just to name a few. Quote
Chaz Hickcox Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 Muddy water generally means skinny water which means BUZZ THEM!!!! More big bass in my muddy waters on buzzbaits/poppers/and anything else that gets their attention than anything else (including those dam senkos!). Quote
Super User Bassin_Fin@tic Posted April 10, 2010 Super User Posted April 10, 2010 Your gonna have to stay shallow due too the lack of visibility. The clearer the water the deeper you can draw them up from. Also fish very tight to and in cover when possible.Usually slow down the retrieve to give them time to find it. For the most part I'd use a black bait or some dark variation.A little chart on it wouldn't hurt either.Loud baits and or ones that make a lot of commotion is usually a bonus. I like super spook jr,buzzbaits, ribbit frogs, loud poppers, large torpedo, devils horse, wounded spook, and spro popping frog with a rattle.. Plugs are fished with small twitches or rips to keep them in the strikezone longer. Quote
