tipptruck1 Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 I have been wanting the ufc to add woman for a long time. Tonight proved why. Both of the fighters came out swinging. Liz Carmouche got a very early back mount. As Rousey got to her feet. Liz was still hanging on her back like a monkey. This lead to Liz being able to apply a rear naked choke. It was almost over right there. About this time you could see Rousey's judo back ground kick in. She just flipped her off her back. Rousey got her to the ground. She had a side mount on her. She was throwing strike after strike. They were all landing also. As she had her hands and head held with one arm. While the other was punching her square in the face. I believe she took like 20 blows right to the face. It ended with Rousey some out getting a arm bar. If this is what the woman's division is going to be like. I think this will become my new favorite division. I bet Dana is now glad he added it. 1 Quote
endless Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 Yea I love Rousey. I watched her over at Strikeforce. I will fear for her if ther ever make her fight Cyborg though. Right now Cyborg is on suspension for steroids. I will give it to Carmouche she almost pulled the upset last night. I was a little worried for my girl, lol. But Dana White is hyping that fight for a while.... So we will see after suspension. Quote
Fish Chris Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 Yea', Rousey is really good... but I was rooting for Carmouche. Cyborg on roids ? No ! Who'd of thunk ??? LOL She is one scary a$$ Bee#### ain't she ? LOL Hey, so I wonder what's up with Gina Carano ? Fish Quote
OkeechobeeAngler Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 Great fight last night. 7-0, 7 first round wins all via armbar. Cyborg is no longer on suspension and has left the UFC and signed with Invicta. But there are rumors that it is a work so it can be billed as a huge fight in the future. Her manger "Tito Ortiz" said the fight will happen. So we'll have to wait and see. Quote

I wish they would be back American Gladiator again. She was one of my favorites as Crush in the show. So was Helga(Robin Coleman) As I remember for as MMA went for Carano she had a hard time keeping her weight at 140 especially after the show American Gladiator where she performed most what a year at 150. Of course she came back to make a run at MMA and got beat by Cyborg. Rumors was she was coming back but that was a long time ago. Sad thing about Cyborg too was she use to be a beautiful woman before the transformation. Quote
scrutch Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 Gina Carrano is awesome in every sense of the word. Quote
tipptruck1 Posted February 25, 2013 Author Posted February 25, 2013 I was talking with a few people about this today at school. They all said it was a boring fight. I said It had to be the best fight I have seen in years. They were like how many fights have you seen. I responded by saying almost every fight since like 06. It might not have been the best fight I have seen. But It has been one of the better fights the UFC has done. I would say in the last 2 years. Sorry Jones or Silva Ko people is getting old. Even GSP and Penn are not as good as they use to be. Quote

Even GSP and Penn are not as good as they use to be. That probably just answered your question!! They only care for the brawl, knockouts and not a fan of grappling or submission technicians. Now I found them boring if the basically just hugging but Most MMA are cleaning that up but telling the fighters to work or show them something before they'll stand them back up. But to say this fight was boring I don't see it. Most fighters would probably have tapped in the position Rousey was in and to throw the girl off you back was impressive. The Hendo fight was boring but understandable. Quote
tipptruck1 Posted February 26, 2013 Author Posted February 26, 2013 I totally agree with what your saying. Don't get me wrong I like ko's as munch as the next guy. Like I said it gets old when every fight its a ko. That is what I like about the LH divison. They can stand, or they can take it to the ground. Like I said a few months ago. I don't need blood to make it a good fight. To me what makes a good fight is action. We had that for the one round on Sat night. We cant even get three rounds of action any more. I remember watching the fights when I first got in to UCF. Those fights were some thing. They would usually go the distance. Speaking of Silva and Jones. Its looks like we finally might get them to fight. Dana said he will have silva fight GSP and Jones both before he retires. http://www.5thround.com/136970/dana-white-anderson-silva-will-fight-georges-st-pierre-and-jon-jones/ http://www.mmamania.com/2013/2/26/4031518/ufc-anderson-silva-jon-jones-catchweight-non-title-bout-mma-new-york Quote
