Best Shakey Head Jig For Finesse?

Got me a new rig this offseason. Gonna try some finesse fishing. To go along w/all my baitcasters, I got 1st spinning set-up. 7' Rage rod, mlxf, w/a Abu orra size 20 spinning reel, spooled w/Pline 6lb fluorocarbon. Gonna try some shakey head and flick-shake. Who makes the best shakey head jig and what size/weight would be best? And what other applications would that set-up be good for? Thanks all!!

I have recently been tossing Owner shakey heads, the football shaped ones with a screw lock keeper. 1/8 or 3/16 works very well. I have, however, put in an order for some E2 shaky head pro models by megastrike from TW. Looking forward to using them. I hear great things.

You should also look into using that setup for spilt shot rigs. It's an excellent weapon to have in your finesse arsenal.

Here are the flick-shakes I use. 1/16, 3/32, 1/8, 3/16 & 1/4 oz.

I like any brand with a horse-foot shape and a good hook, like Gamakatsu.  I use 3/16 oz almost exclusively.  I prefer the wire screw-lock keepers but it's a pain to use them with the floating super-stretch plastics because you have to heat the wire to get it to penetrate the bait.  In the summertime, I'm using a dropshot more often than a shakey head and your new rig will work for that too.

I tryed many different brands and shapes and keep coming back to those.

X2, only I prefer the Pro model with the screw-loc rather than a barb. 3/16 oz

I agree with Mike L. I really like spot removers. They are tough to use when your throwing thick baits though cause they dont have an extra wide gap. If Im using those Strike king worms that strech 10xs their own length I will use the strike king shakeys though. You cant get those extra soft baits on the screw keeper

Never tried the spot remover....but owner makes a great one, pair that with a NetBait finesse worm KILLER.

After getting them suggested to me multiple times on the forum I picked up a pack of the megastrike skakE2 pro series shakey heads and they are great. Those suckers stand up to they almost never fall over...

For 4" & 5" worms, I think that it is hard to beat a Brewer Pro Spider slider head.  Those are the ones made with a slightly stouter hook than a regular slider head.  The regular slider head would be my second choice.

Buckeye Spot Remover with a 5" Hags Tornado is my favorite shakey head combo.

I've used KVD shaky heads, and Spot Removers and liked both, however I use the spot remover more because it is more durable in terms of the paint on it, and it seems to get through weeds better. In South Florida there is grass almost everywhere so thats important. 3/8 size for me

  Owner Ultrahead is my favorite.  Has a special centering pin before the screw lock, gets the bait straight every time.  Razor sharp sticky hooks as well.  If a fish bites it and gets the hook in its mouth, you will have a hard time getting it out!  Have been wanting to try some of the D&L Tackle shaky heads as well.  Look a lot similar design to the owners, but a little cheaper.

Check out Sieberts Zenith and Extreme Shakey heads. Like everything else Mike sells, these are the highest quality from the hook to the finish.

Gambler Giggy Head 3/32nd oz. or 1/8th oz. ...Heat up the round worm barb then slide into a Elaztech GP color 4.5 inch worm soaked in Bang garlic scent ...It just isn't fair to spotted bass !

I have tried a bunch of shakeyheads......and I have settled on Siebert's stuff, they are hard to beat.

the mega strike ones are good, the only time I questioned them is when I fished rock, which is most of the time.

the Owner ultrahead is a standard for sure, great head, CPS, and good hook.

Siebert's I still like more because of the hooks he uses.... Siebert has one of the best shakeyheads on the market, and when he gets to add the CPS pin (hopefully). then he will have THE BEST on the market hands down.
