With the tw sale and a $40.00 credit Im thinking this is the only time I can afford a glx, I wouldnt think of spending $465 usually but now its kinda tempting.

I would primarily use it for jigs, t rigs fishing pads, and other veg.

I havent needed to step up more than 1 oz, and ive been using a 7'5 mossyback H for it.

What would you buy? the 7"11? or the 7'5 3/8-1 1/4 h?

Depending on the power you desire, I would get the GLX 894 or the GLX 895. Both are very comfortable and sensitive rods with plenty of backbone and the perfect length imho.

I don't have any experience with the new model GLX rods but I do however own the now "old" GLX flip/punch rod. It's the BCFR 954 7'11" rod and I can tell you it's a beast. I don't use it for anything but flipping heavy grass. If that's what you plan to primarily use it for then it's a great choice. If however you are wanting to use it for other things I'd suggest going with the other rod you like. The 7'11" rods are only meant for one thing, at least this is the case with the older version.

I'm sure it is a heavy action rod I just didn't want to post that it was when I'm not 100% sure due to it not being listed on the rod. I do know this rod is meant for big weights and heavy cover. Good luck in your search.

the loomis last number indicates 4 power (heavy)..personally I like a rod thats rated up to 2oz ,like the champion 765 flip/punch or 766.
