Phranchise1213 Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 Was curious what this process is like. Are they released out far from shore discretely so the anglers don't know where they are released? Im curious because I was thinking that if they were released at the same spot and all at once (say the boat launch) I am sure those fish aren't going to travel too far from that area by the next day meaning there would be boatload (pun intended) of fish near the launch the next day, primed for the picking. hmmm Quote
Koofy Smacker Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 Not sure about BASS but FLW puts them all on pontoon boats and takes them out into open water and releases them all. Also no fishing is permitted within that area Quote
BassnChris Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 Local news did a story on the Classic tonight....all week actually. They said the fish will all be loaded into a Oklahoma Wildlife truck they use to haul the fish for stocking. They will go out each night after the weigh in is complete. They will go to 'secret' sites on Grand Lake and release the fish at many of these 'secret' sites. They also said these fish will not likely bite again for several days.......not sure I buy that one. Gotfishyfingers? Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 Most if not all anglers are long gone and off the water by the time the release boats go out. BASS said today each of there release boats can hold up to 600 lbs of fish before it goes out and releases the fish. Quote
Phranchise1213 Posted February 23, 2013 Author Posted February 23, 2013 Cool thanks for that info Quote
