WhiteMike1018 Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 Alex Midler ladies and gentleman. A 12 yearold pro skateboarder who makes grown men who been skating for many years look like amatuers. I thought I was cool when I was a kid until i saw this.....I mean d**n 1 Quote

Super User 00 mod Posted February 22, 2013 Super User Posted February 22, 2013 I have done all of those moves before, I am pretty sure..... ON Tony Hawk! X2! Sam Jeff Quote
Super User Gatorbassman Posted February 22, 2013 Super User Posted February 22, 2013 Can you imagine how good he'll be after he builds some upper body strength. That's pretty dang good there. Quote
Daddyodo Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 Actually saw that kid in Ocean City Md for the DEW TOUR. KID IS SICK!! Quote
Super User Root beer Posted February 22, 2013 Super User Posted February 22, 2013 Liked the wipe out at the end. Highlight of the video. Hope they get a college education as they are good, but not that good. So if you don't get a college education you're not that good? If this kid ends up like the next Ryan Sheckler, Tony Hawks, Rob Dyrdek he will be set financially for life... Quote
Super User Teal Posted February 22, 2013 Super User Posted February 22, 2013 Yea but having that kind of talent would go great with a marketing or communications degree. Quote
Super User Root beer Posted February 22, 2013 Super User Posted February 22, 2013 Yea but having that kind of talent would go great with a marketing or communications degree. Look up a bunch of pro skaters... None of them have a marketing degrees, least the one I mentioned. Marketing is easily learned outside of the classrooms, it pointless getting a marketing degree.. Super User Teal Posted February 22, 2013 Super User Posted February 22, 2013 I know what you mean... im just saying, if that were my kid. Id be thrilled about his talent, but i would still want him to focus on college education just as i would if he didnt have any talent. In that young mans sport, it only takes ONE fall to end his skating FOREVER. Have a back up plan. Those degrees are not only good if he is involved in the sport but for anybody. How many guys do we see leave college early for the NFL and wash out and come back home and take a 10.00/hr job when the little bit of money runs out... it happens all the time. Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted February 22, 2013 Super User Posted February 22, 2013 Anything can be learned outside the classroom but there is a reason college exists and you can learn things much easier in college than being thrown out to the wolves right away. Also the kid is good but i really wasn't totally blown away. you could go to love park in philly before they started arresting kids for skating and see the majority of these same trick but not at 12 years old. Quote
WhiteMike1018 Posted February 22, 2013 Author Posted February 22, 2013 Something tells me as healthy as he seems in the video....that hes had his fair share of doctor visits...me it minor or major due to skating I think a college degree is important too Quote

It seems the same but its not, the kick flips on the grind bar is EXTREMELY hard....he gets in the air and has to flip the board horizontally so it lands on the bar so he can land on it, i cant even fathom how long it would take me to learn to do something of such lol Quote
CoBass Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 So if you don't get a college education you're not that good? If this kid ends up like the next Ryan Sheckler, Tony Hawks, Rob Dyrdek he will be set financially for life... Even with the talent he has at a young age there's no guarantee he will end up like any of the guys you mentioned. A college education will do more to guarantee him a better life than skateboarding. Not saying he won't make a lot of money on his board but like with any other sport, he's one injury away from being done. How many extremely talented guys have dropped out of college for the NBA only to get hurt before they made it big. Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted February 23, 2013 Super User Posted February 23, 2013 And you also have to remember all the guys mentioned didn't make their money actually skateboarding it was all marketing. And yeah I know how hard a kick flip to a rail is to do as I busted myself up plenty of times trying to do it myself Quote
