Looks Like New Abu Garcia Rods Maybe Coming

Went to the website for the upcoming Classic. This is a pic from Brandon Palaniuk's rod locker. I've  never seen those maroon looking rods before, and they definitely have the styling cues of other Garcia rods. Any opinions or does anybody have anything from the rumor mill?

There is another rod coming. I remember in another thread somebody looked up the pending trademarks around the time the first pictures of the mgxtreme came out. No info on it other than it also starts with a V but can't remember the name.

The name of the rod I believe is the Abu Garcia Volitile.

The volittile has been on sale for a while at TW. Its designed to be an inshore rod but almost all of the actions will work for us. Its priced the same as the Veritas. 99 bucks. Id like to see them bring a highend rod in the mix. There are you tube videos about the Volitile.

I would also like to see them introduce a new high end rod. With the way they have trended so far you would figure that's what they'll do. They've pretty much got it covered from about $80 to $180 with several different lines of rods. So one could only figure the only direction to go is up. With all the rods they've introduced over the last few years it seems that most of their pros (especially Ike) still prefer the Veritas. Even though there are now 2 rod series above that line as of now. I know even Ike has some mixed in rods from other Abu rod lines but the majority of his deck is Veritas. Just curious as to why...

I called both BP's in my state and they are all still 99.99 except for the 7'11" which is 119.99. If they are BP does add match and their website prices are still 99.99

That price is for the really lengthy version of the Veritas Winch. All of the micro and standard guide rods up to 7ft are $99 still.

That maybe, I wasnt looking at the longer rods, they're not my style.  I was going by a oh I'd say 16"x16" sign they had connected to the rack that stated the price in bold.  I did get the 6'6" for $99 so you guys are right Im sure.

TW has the Classic winning gear sale. It says Palanuik was using the new Velocity by Abu Garcia. But when i googled it, the rods black. He also had a maroon reel on the rod. It was definately a combo. You think we would know more about it. I know he was finesse fishing with a black Fenwick rod. Does anyone know the black/copper looking rod Ike was using every once in awhile. Resembled a Lightning Rod.

The maroon ones look to be Cumaras because the new Velocity rod is black. Him using a Fenwick is not a surprise because they are a part of Pure Fishing.

Don't forget their newest high priced rod the Voluptuous.  It is similar to the Bass Pro Shops rods but it has two powerhumps that will really grab your attention  .  Of course this model will cost you a fortune......they always do!

I saw that too. I wonder if the Velocity is still in the developement stage, he was probably using a prototype. I looked on Abus site and didnt see anything about it.

 Hello Alan, the another site post was a little misleading as we did not release anything at the Classic other than the MGXtreme.
