Comfortably Numb Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Someone on another site was asking about a natural Earthworm color. I took it as a good challenge and tried playing with some color combos. Here is pumpkin and white and the top lam is bears chameleon (violet to brown color changing) The top is a bright translucent violet when held to the light. Here is pumpkin and whit and the top lam is pumpkin and a little black. Too dark I think. And here is the best. Pumpkin and white and top lam is pumpkin and white with a little extra pumpkin and a little violet. Sorry I dont have the exact formula as they were only 2 oz batches and I was playin around. Quote
jhoffman Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 I personally would fish the one you think is too dark. A little more purple in that via flake or something it would be money 2 Quote
Super User Teal Posted February 21, 2013 Super User Posted February 21, 2013 All of them look good. I like the darker one. Quote
Super User Darren. Posted February 21, 2013 Super User Posted February 21, 2013 I personally would fish the one you think is too dark. A little more purple in that via flake or something it would be money I would agree with this. They all look good, though. Quote
Super User 00 mod Posted February 21, 2013 Super User Posted February 21, 2013 I like the bottom one in the last picture! Jeff Quote
Snakehead Whisperer Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 They all look great, but I have to agree that the darker one would be my first pick. Healthy looking worm in your first pic. Quote
bkohlman Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 That is a pretty amazing job you did! Quote
loodkop Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 I have the same mold and am going to make some earthworms now to use on a shakeyhead tomorrow. Thanks for the inspiration. Quote
Super User smalljaw67 Posted February 22, 2013 Super User Posted February 22, 2013 I too like the darker one!! I get worms in a color called "oxblood" because they have the same "earthworm" type color. While I like the darker one I think any of them will be great and just like baitfish, earthworms vary in color from place to place depending on the nutriends in the soil, the ones I find in my yard are a little darker so the laminate wouldn't work as it would need to be the same color to match them here but great job on matching the one you have in your hand. Comfortably Numb Posted February 22, 2013 Author Posted February 22, 2013 Thanks all. It's not neccesarily a color I might throw, but thought it would be fun to try and match it Here is the top color in the first pic when held up to the light. The brown turns to a transparent violet. Pretty cool. ...Bill Quote
RyneB Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 i also think the darker one resembles a earthworm the best. Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted February 26, 2013 Super User Posted February 26, 2013 One more vote for the darker one. Those look amazing. Quote
Gavin Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 Toss em in the water with some dead naturals and compare...Think the darker one will be a better match judging by the color of the worms that come to commit suicide in my inground swimming pool. Quote
Jmrichardson2011 Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 Personally, I like the one with a little bit of flake. Would work great in the lakes I fish Quote
