Super User Paul Roberts Posted April 7, 2010 Super User Posted April 7, 2010 I once weighed a pot-bellied 23" LM on a De-Liar (Zebco version), and it pulled 7lbs. I wonder what it REALLY weighed lol. Probably pretty close -I like to think it was a bit light ;D. Quote
Chaz Hickcox Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 Stop whining, I caught a bass last year that was 21 inches long with a 6 1/2 inch head that I was sure was at least 5-6lbs. When we weighed the skinny thing she was only 3-14. Just maybe you have been catching bass a lot smaller than you think. How are you going to judge the weight over a, as you said, verified scale? weekendfisherman Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 ;D I love this post! I was looking at this scale in my Bass Pro Mag. and thinking about ordering it...Maybe I will wait on that. I hate to see my results go down and start catching "smaller" fish! LOL!!!!! Quote

Probably pretty close -I like to think it was a bit light ;D. I've owned this Zebco version for about 45 years now and still wear it on a lanyard when fishing from the bank and have it in the canoe when on the water (mostly for the tape measure feature). I used this to measure and weigh my PB - 26" and 7 3/4 lbs. Everytime the bass wiggled, the scale would "bottom" at 8 pounds. When it was still, the indicator would move up just a tad to 7 3/4. I did pulls from this De-Liar to a Rapala digital and they correlated reasonably well all the way to 8 lbs so I call my PB a 7-12 (although I wish I could call it an 8 ) Quote
Super User RoLo Posted April 8, 2010 Super User Posted April 8, 2010 Yep, that's the one I remember best. Roger Quote
