I received a revo sx from tackle warehouse yesterday. It was very unsmooth, gears felt rough. So, I sent it back after filling out the return form on the back of my invoice. Has anyone exchanged any reels through TW? If so, did they send you a smooth reel, like it should have been?

Well, I would think they will send you another reel. Weather that reel is smooth, like it should be, is more dependent on Abu Garcia than TW. Good luck.

I sent in a Shimano Chronarch that had a issue with the break cover not closing... they sent back a brand new one in a few days no questions asked. However it might vary under the warranty and I don't remember the SX warranty off the top of my head. Yes, I do have a SX on my punching setup but haven't gotten to use it yet because I got it last fall.. Feels nice though  :angel500:

You shouldnt have to strip a new reel, clean, regrease and relube it, but it is an option. I bought a Lews TP off ebay like that and i didnt want to go through the hassleso of trying to send it back so i decided to strip it down first and give that a try...reel is smooth as butter now. But like i said, you shouldnt have to do that on a reel that is new. That is totally on the manufactuer.

Well does anyone have any experience with the 3rd generation Revo SX?

That is my friends favorite reel for the price. I like how it feels as well.  TW will take care of the reel situation since it is brand new.

Usually if you call them and let them know what the problem is they will send you a new one along with a return label, when you get the new one you pack the broken one up and put the return label over the original and send it back.
