is anybody else in the northern states hoping that we get a good few weeks of 60 degree weather to get the bass biting? I sure as heck know i am... SICK OF WINTER!

I'll take a couple of 45 degree weeks, just to start getting into the swing of things. We had a early spring last year and then a hard freeze. Killed all of the apple and cherry crops. So I'm looking for a more gradual increase in temps this year. Don't get me wrong 60's would be great, just not now. Plus here in Michigan we can't even legally fish for Bass until April.

I understand where you're coming from and for years I've hoped for the same thing. But in the last few years we've had some abnormally warm early weather and the rest of the year is often screwed up; not necessarily fishing only, but other things in nature. So I've changed and mainly hope for normal weather, if there is such a thing anymore.

I know what you mean! I'm from Syracuse, so obviously I've experienced the same thing. Last year water levels were so low... with our luck there will be too much water instead of too little this year... normal would be great! if it means waiting a little bit to fish, so be it. I hate to see fish populations and other ecosystems thrown off so much because of a weird year...

I would be happy with anything above freezing right now.  It was 8 degrees with a -15 windchill today (NW Wisconsin).  This is the time of year I always threaten to move to a warmer climate.

As much as I've envied not being able to fish natural lakes filled with Northern strain LMB, you guys have me thankful for my warm weather, Florida strain filled, manmade lakes.

But come true bass fishing season, you guys win.

always wanted to get out for trout in winter. seems like every time i get set to go the creeks are too high...

i gotta admit, i love fishing my natural lakes and ponds. but i wonder if its actually worth not being able to fish for 3-4 months...

Last year was a bust for CNY. The weather was so warm that the fish were off and it became insanely difficult to anticipate their locations and feeding schedules. I am with the others who want a SLOWWWW transition this year.
