jhoffman Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 if you like garlic you want powerteam lures hog tonic. That stuff will make a person who bottles garlic for a living take notice. Quote
Super User LgMouthGambler Posted February 19, 2013 Super User Posted February 19, 2013 I don't think Bass scent is very attractive. My wife hates it when I come home smelling like fish. Lol 1 Quote
Super User Darren. Posted February 19, 2013 Super User Posted February 19, 2013 JJ's Magic, a garlic scent, chartreuse or clear. Megastrike. Yum F2 Attractant spray Quote
Super User Teal Posted February 19, 2013 Super User Posted February 19, 2013 I started using MegaStrike Original a month ago. The stuff is the real deal. 75% of the time when i caught a fish on a jig, he was hooked in the roof of the mouth. The fish absolutley smoked them and wouldnt let go! On the jerkbaits i rubbed it on, i noticed that if they short striked it, theyd come back and hit it a second time more than half of the time. There are probably alot of good scents and attractants outt there, but MegaStrike has my complete attention. It is the real deal. Quote

After all the numerous positive responses on this site about Megastrike I bought all 3 scents to try out this year. I bet if I rub it on the ice right now the fish would crash through. LOL I also bought JJ's Magic which also has a great reputation around people on this site. When I want the wife and kids to leave me alone I just open the bottle for 2 seconds. The stink drives them away quickly! LOL Quote
jhoffman Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 Im glad to see you all serving the same breakfast Quote

Super User WRB Posted February 21, 2013 Super User Posted February 21, 2013 What are some effective bass scent that have worked for you guys? Brand and flavor? This site has one official attractant or bass scent sponsor; MegaSrike listed on the right side bar and unofficial JJ's Magic. I believe MegaSrike is worth trying, JJ's Magic may requires special handling from what has been posted. My preferences based on my experiences are; Pork rind trailers, fresh garlic and pure anise oil. Soft plastics, except swimbit, Edge Hot Sauce. Soft plastic swimbaits, Pro-Cure trout butter. Attractants that have worked for me; Bang, Smelly Jelly and original Berkley bass attractant. Tom 1 Quote
Super User Felix77 Posted February 21, 2013 Super User Posted February 21, 2013 I have had zero luck with smelly jelly or the gulp spray on scents. I just pre dipped some Senkos with JJ's to try and fish tomorrow. I almost passed out when I smelled the bag! Powerful stuff. Lol 1 Quote
Super User Teal Posted February 21, 2013 Super User Posted February 21, 2013 My wife hates the smell of jjs on my hands. She will literally hand me some Dawn soap and make me wash my hands at the water hose outside when i come in the house. My wife is SUPER laid back, but not when in comes to that stuff. The crazy thing is, its not like i get it on my hands when i dip baits. It just comes from handling the bait and re rigging the bait after a snag or a fish. Quote
Super User kickerfish1 Posted February 21, 2013 Super User Posted February 21, 2013 A 4 oz bottle of smelly jelly in baitfish scent. Perfect for putting a few drops in the hook slot of a fluke. Quote
Kevinator1 Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 I don't think Bass scent is very attractive. My wife hates it when I come home smelling like fish. Lol I can't believe Gambler isn't using Shimano's Garlic,Craw,Shad & Worm scents. Must have forgot about those! LOL Quote
Curved Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Gulp refill stuff. I don't know if it makes them hold on longer, but I've seen how after it disperses the fish get more active. Just have to stick to the same spot for a while and they start bubbling at the surface. Quote
