Cool man! I been using C3D for the past 7 yrs off and on. but consistanlty since 2008. I am used to it, I like it. I started grading on bum wad and digitizing contours into LDD and then used LDD very heavy for a while. I love the annotation(mutiple scales and dynamic links), and the dynamic links between profiles, surfaces and pipe networks. SSA is still quirky, but the way things work here the PEs run that and I get stuck with figuring the import back in and updating my pipe networks which is an issue. The hardest things IMO are learning all the ins and outs to building surfaces effectively and getting people, mainly upper management/construction estimators and IT/resellers, to understand things are not as simple as what the demos Autodesk puts out to sell the product. Things are more complicated and site specific than they account for. Sorry to ramble and get off track, but it is rare I can talk to someone regarding this. message me any time.

haha...yeah I used LDD for a few years then we switched over to 3D. I really like it...especially when changes are to be made on sewer lines and the stations and stuff update automatically. I suppose I'm pretty good at it. The only thing that gets on my nerves about it is all the dang layers it creates. I liked it when I could just click on a layer in a viewport and freeze it but now all of the lables and stuff are somehow connected. haha

Yeah I hate not being able to purge the extra layers out, but the Cad expo I attended in Dec. the 2013 version will allow you to purge unused styles. The layering off and on is one of the worst things to get used to.

That's cool. Yea, the layers are pretty much the only problem I have to the program. I see you're in Florida? I'm happy with my job, but it would be awesome to work down there.

I am an automotive tech and shop forman for a Chevrolet/Cad dealer here in Va.  I have been the field since 1972, I work with 16 techs, I take care of their training, tools, CSI, and handle all of the major problem vehicles if the tech has an issue with one, I fix anything that goes wrong in the shop from computers to cars to air compressors, quality control is one of my top priorities in making sure the car or truck is fixed right the first time.

I also teach diesel classes at a local technical center here at nights and on the weekends I can be found in my yard working on my passion, boats, I love the marine industry, I don't know why though.

Ole and Lars who worked together were both laid off, so off they were to the unemployment office. Asked his occupation, Ole said, "Panty stitcher. I sew the elastic onto cotton panties." The clerk looked up panty stitcher. Finding it classified as unskilled labor, she gave Ole $300 a week unemployment pay.

Lars was asked his occupation. "Diesel fitter," he replied. Since diesel fitters was a skilled job the clerk gave him $600 a week.

When Ole finds out he is furious. He stormed back to find out why Lars, his friend and co-worker was collecting double his pay. The clerk explained, "Panty stitchers were unskilled and diesel fitters were skilled labor." "What skill?" yelled Ole. "I sew the elastic on. He pulls on it and says, 'Yep, diesel fitter.'"
