Normally at 75.  I can't stand to be cold.

It kills me here at the office they keep it 70-72, I rarely where short sleeves.

funny how a few degrees can make the world of difference in feeling hot or cold.

68 for us.  Memphis' power company MLG&W are known for high priced energy, and we do our part to stay below the average!

I think you keep it 68 to condition your wife to the cold. That's how you got her to go to Wisconsin this winter to trout fish.   :laugh5:

Depends a little on the outdoor temp but in general...

In winter = 71 While awake steps down to 65 then 62 while sleeping.

In summer = 72 or 73 while awake. Steps down to 70 or 71 while sleeping.

Funny that you mention this as I posted the same thing several years ago. Glenn mentioned at the time that never in his wildest dreams when he made BassResource.com did he think that this subject would ever come up.

I also came up with the toilet paper over or under thread! :D

and if I recall, over was the winner. it rips off before you get the desired amount of sheets when pulled from under.

Nah under is the only way to go!

68 day, 60 night during the winter and I sleep with a window open even when it's in the 20's outside (my wife hates that)

The rolled paper industry answered this question a long time ago when they started printing designs on the paper (not talking about embossing); you can only see the printed design when pulled over the top.  Besides, you can't find the tag end at times when pulled from under.

Well, this morning it doesn't really matter what I set my thermostat at, the darn thing won't fire!  Luckily, I have wood to burn.

I keep two K-1 heaters as standbys in-case we loose power; we can also cook on them if need be.

Well first off, I have to say, at every house I have ever lived in, my bedroom seems to stay like 7-12 degrees warmer than any other room in the house, no matter what the thermo is set for ! My theory is my body heat + a big, flat screen TV + my PC....

That said, we usually leave the thermo set to 63.

A few years ago the Landlord was always worried about PG and E.... and so (kind of) to prove a point, when he would leave town every weekend, I'd never turn the heater on at all. I just wore sweat pants and tops, and again my room was so much warmer. It even got warmer there, because that room was so small.

One time in January, I got up in the morn, and the hall thermometer was pegged at the minimum of 48 degrees ! But again, my room was close to 60, and with sweat cloths, no problem.

I can't handle cold near as well though, nowadays, since I lost all the blubber.....

Peace,

Fish

Similar deal for me too.

I feed a wood stove all winter and that's like a job.

There is nothing, for me at least, that is as comfortable as the heat coming from a wood stove. My in-laws had a wood stove and for awhile thought I didn't like them cause every tiime we visited, I fell asleep!

My wife always say the same thing -

I think the stove heat actually may have the power to heal, at least a little anyway.

I used to frequent an archery shop near where I live. The owner was an older guy, and he heated the building mostly with a wood burning stove. I would go there on a saturday to hang out. There would be a pot of chili on the stove, and 6-8 guys sitting around the stove, watching the fire, and taking turns falling asleep. I long for those type of "gathering" places. Just a bunch of guys, having fun, razzing each other, hanging out together and sharing...stories, experiences, advice. Good times.

My father in law burns wood in the den it gets stupid hot in that room haha. I fall asleep if I put my feet up I have to sit straight up feet flat on the floor or it's lights out in under a minute. Sitting up gives me like 5 minutes to get interacting or doing something other wise it's lights out. It drys my contacts out though only thing I hate about it.
