BrettD Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 I have mostly shimanos and lews about a 50/50 split. I love the shimano citica/curado e's but since they discontinued them I have been switching over to the lews tourny pros and abu stx' reels. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted February 19, 2013 Super User Posted February 19, 2013 Daiwa, though I have other brands as well. 1 Quote
bugman Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 I fish the Shimano curados from the old "mean green reel" up through the E series. The new G series curados seem to be a down grade. I picked up another E series on clearance from Gander Mnt that I will keep for future use. Might look into Lews when it's time for a new purchase. Quote
Super User LgMouthGambler Posted February 19, 2013 Super User Posted February 19, 2013 I've seen this movie before. Its Shimano, followed close by Lews, then Abu behind them. Quote

Super User LgMouthGambler Posted February 19, 2013 Super User Posted February 19, 2013 Lews right........lol Hootie I AM NOT A LEWSER! lol Quote

ncbassfisher1496 Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 What's your fishing style, and what's your budget? Mainly crankbaits and worms. And under $150 Quote
Super User LgMouthGambler Posted February 19, 2013 Super User Posted February 19, 2013 CiticaG6 Quote
Super User J Francho Posted February 19, 2013 Super User Posted February 19, 2013 Mainly crankbaits and worms. And under $150 Daiwa Lexa 100 6.3:1 is your best option at that price point. Quote

bassinbrian Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 Waaat no more votes for victory??? To be honest, I had to google what it was. I've never heard of it till now Quote
Super User iabass8 Posted February 19, 2013 Super User Posted February 19, 2013 To be honest, I had to google what it was. I've never heard of it till nowYa i actually had to as well. We all know where these polls go so i didnt want to let somebody go unnoticed. Quote
BassCats Posted February 19, 2013 Author Posted February 19, 2013 Suprised nobody has given any votes to Pinnacle. They seem to be good reels now that they redid the entire line up couple years ago. I do like their rods. I personally voted Okuma. I will buy my first and probably only Curado this thursday at reel trade in. We shall see where things go from there. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted February 19, 2013 Super User Posted February 19, 2013 I have a Pinnacle spinning reel that I like a lot. Quote
Super User Jrob78 Posted February 20, 2013 Super User Posted February 20, 2013 Daiwa for me, although I own many other brands. Quote
flippin and pitchin Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 I won't cast a vote for any one reel brand. There are many many many quality reels, casting and spinning and they would all perform well. It's personal preference. I respect anyone's selection in what they purchase and use. Just fish it. 1 Quote
Super User kickerfish1 Posted February 20, 2013 Super User Posted February 20, 2013 No votes for Megabass? Where is RedlineRobert?!!! Quote
Flukeman Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Abu and Shimano. I vited Abu because they fit my hand better and they are prettier Quote
Super User lmbfisherman Posted February 20, 2013 Super User Posted February 20, 2013 I voted Shimano, always used them since I first starting fishing as a kid (9). Of course I own other reels - BPS, Quantum and Abu Garcia, but I always put a Shimano on my favorite rods and can't seem to put them down. Quote
jhoffman Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 I voted for shimano for bait casters but my best spinning reels are diawa. Odd, id go the flip route Quote
