RoushBasser Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 So to most of you this may be a dumb question but to the new guy with all this fancy equipment it is a little outside my knowledge range. So I ordered a HDS 10 Gen 2 w/ Structure Scan and I understand it has networking capability and what not. I also recently just found another HDS 10 without a transducer. My question is with the networking ability what exactly is shared? Will the transducer still be required to get full readings to an additional bow mounted HDS unit? Thank you for any help you can give, just want to know all that I will need to make an additional unit operational. Quote

By adding a head unit only you can hook an ethernet cable to the lss box and your bow unit and it can become a clone of the one at the helm. Everything that you see will be from the helm unit's transducer. For not many bones you can put a 2d sonar transducer on the trolling motor and have that for the bow unit and still be able to see the si and di from the helm unit's lss transducer. Quote
RoushBasser Posted February 18, 2013 Author Posted February 18, 2013 Thanks for the quick replies and that puts me on track for adding a new unit to the bow as well. I seen that an additional transducer is not that much and plan on getting one anyways just for a better reading of what is actually under me and not behind me. I will share the SS with the front unit though as needed. Once again thanks for the help guys! Quote
R520dvx Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 Through the ethernet/structure scan system, you can share all sonar data .... transducers etc. .... and waypoints. If You install a NMEA system, it will share all other sensor data .... temp sensors, internal and external GPS antennas etc. Quote
