flippin and pitchin Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 My wife is awesome, I mean the best. She recorded some of the most incredible competition in all of sport on the NBC Sport channel. I could not leave the room. No food breaks, no bathroom breaks, just intense play by play acts of sheer athletics and skill beyond belief. How could three hours go by so fast. To think I have never viewed curling before. The thrill of grown men in black slacks and matching shirts doing the splits and then using a Swiffer sweeper to skillfully polish ice, all while screaming commands at a granite stone. I can't wait until the winter Olympics. Too heck with wrestling.... curling is where it's at. Now where can I get a subscription to Curling Today Magazine ? Incredible. I wonder if Rayjus has team curling jerseys? I want one bad. I have it recorded in case anyone wants to come over and watch it. Bring your own Cheetos. 1 Quote

Super User A-Jay Posted February 18, 2013 Super User Posted February 18, 2013 It's just so encouraging to hear how excited you are regarding this spine tingling sport. I see no reason why you shouldn't turn your drive way into a year round curling rink. If you build it Doug ~ they will come . . . . . . A-Jay Quote
Super User BASSclary Posted February 18, 2013 Super User Posted February 18, 2013 Come Olympic time you will also never see me nor my dad leave the couch. It's like a peaceful game of strategy mixed with skill, and it just intrigues my mind. Speaking of favorite sports, have any of you guys tried Ultimate Frisbee? Very fun. 2 Quote

Super User Marty Posted February 19, 2013 Super User Posted February 19, 2013 From Wikipedia: A great deal of strategy and teamwork goes into choosing the ideal pathand placement of a stone for each situation, and the skills of thecurlers determine how close to the desired result the stone willachieve. This gives curling its nickname of "Chess On Ice". Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted February 19, 2013 Super User Posted February 19, 2013 Curling is pretty cool. I got into it last Olympics and actually went and played, not as easy as it looks. The other plus is the chicks always wear tight pants Now anyone play frisbee golf? 1 Quote

The other plus is the chicks always wear tight pants Now anyone play frisbee golf? I used to play a ton of disc golf. In college I even got a few credits for it...we actually had a written final. You know you've signed up for a cool course when you can smoke a cigarette during the final. Lol. Quote

DeadEyeDavey Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 I love curling, whether it be playing or watching. I even proposed a curling team at my high school, it didn't pass. Quote
