paul25 Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 I'm looking to get a new football jig rod i have a skeet reese football jig rod it says it's rated up to an ounce for lures i mainly throw 1/2 ounce and 3/4 ounce i think you can cover most water with those two weights and that rod just didn't feel great to me for throwing them. Any help would be great. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted February 18, 2013 Super User Posted February 18, 2013 Depends on what you want to spend. For around $150 you might find a gently used G. Loomis IMX MBR844C. 1 Quote

I would just add the Phenix M1 and Powell Endurance to the list. Really though, you cant go wrong with any of those choices and they are well within your budget. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted February 18, 2013 Super User Posted February 18, 2013 If you are not in a hurry, GREAT deals pop up on our Flea Market often For $250 you should be able to buy the GLX version of the MBR844C or maybe the BCR 854. These are two of my favorite rods for both jigs and weighted soft plastics. Quote

Super User new2BC4bass Posted February 18, 2013 Super User Posted February 18, 2013 Buy from the Flea Market on this forum. Lately I have purchased a couple items from ebay although I admit it isn't a favorite place for me to shop even though some very good deals can be had on occasion. I just picked up a Quantum SuperLite 6'10" Heavy for $69 + $18 shipping. Rod listed for $229 when in the Quantum lineup. Quote
coak Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 For used G. Loomis rods you can check out American legacy fishing's used rod section as well if you don't want to deal with auction sites or forum hopping Quote
