Basslover730 Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 How could I create a bass club for my area. I'm 15 and need some help. Thanks Quote
Super User slonezp Posted February 17, 2013 Super User Posted February 17, 2013 I guess you would first need to figure out what you want to accomplish with the club. Is it going to be a group of guys meeting periodicly to discuss bass fishing and partner up for outings.. Will there be tournaments involved? Does your high school have any interest in fishing teams. It's starting to become popular. Quote

I am not sure how fishing is in Massachusetts but in IL it is getting pretty big for high school kids. Quote
TheBassinBarber Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 If your looking to start a club for you and your buddies that are of the same age group, it is pretty easy and not very costly. You really only need to buy yourself a scale to weigh fish. Whether you get a nicer scale that allows you to weigh fish in a basket or just a digital hand scale where you can weigh fish in a bag(make sure its at least a 50 lb digital scale and that its a bag made for transporting fish, not a trashbag). However, if this is the plan, I would take the advice given by the others and just try and start a HS fishing team, you will get much more out of it that way. If your trying to start a club with grown men, then you will want to find a responsible adult who is willing to run it. No offense, adults will more than likely not join a club ran by a 15 year old, but thats just my opinion. Either one you decide on, just type up some bylaws outlining the rules and regulations of the club, figure out yearly dues and how much each tournament entry will be. There really isnt much money needed at all to start a club, just need to have time to invest into it to make sure it is run properly. My recommedation is however the same as the others, HIGH SCHOOL TEAM...GOOD LUCK with whatever you decide Quote
TheBassinBarber Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 youll also need to buy a measuring board as well to measure fish, not very expensive either. Quote
