Plastic Worms

What other worms would you recommend that are comparable to the rattlesnake from GrandeBass? I really like the ribbed look to these worms and I feel the action would be a bit better than just a regular worm so what other worms that are made this way would you guys recommend? The only reason I am asking is because I am going to BPS for the classic sale and GrandeBass is not sold at any BPS that I know of.

Hag's torando and Big Bite Baits coontail are similar. I know BPS doesn't sell either though. They aren't the same but the closest I think would be the Zoom double ringer or the LFT ring fry like Packard said. I think Berkley might a a few ringed worms also.

The Grandebass Megatail Rattle Snake is a good one, along with the Rage Recon Worm, and Big Bite's Coon Tail.

BPS carries the Recon. It's pretty new, I doubt many fish have seen it yet. 

You will like the action you see and I think the fish will react to the subtle

vibration of the ribbing which you can't really see. 

 

I'm a big fan of the Thumper and Anaconda. I expect the Recon to be another

great addition to the Rage Tail line-up.

I like to use Yamamoto's curly tail worm and also the 10" and 12" Berkley Power Worms.

BPS tends to carry regional lures in some stoes including low production and hand poured soft plastics.

Just need to check them out.

Doug Hannon's snake worm looks exactly like a snake, if that is what you are looking for.

There are some excellent custom hand poured giant worms available that catch fish, not fisherman.

Recon for sure! Right now, that bait's got me my PB.

That is the only draw back about grande bass. Academy Sports is the only store I have seen them in. The tornado from what is in the description has a chamber in it, don't sink as fast. And the coon tail is an irregular shape. I don't know if bps sell zipper worms or berkely powerbait rib snake. Sometimes you just have to order them, they are worth it IMO.

• Stanley makes a wom called the Sidewinder that has a Rattle Chamber and has lots of ridges for vibrations. I have always though of Stanley as a JIg company, but I am in love with the Ribbit, Double take hooks for their frogs and flippin baits, and I like this SIdwinder worm. I grabbed a few packs at Bass Pro on clearence last year, never though much about them, and one day I decided to throw one on a tough bite in mid summer. I had a silver fleck & Smoke shade, and I added a subtle worm rattle to the tail and decided to split shot it in about 8 feet of water near Hydilla  & underwater structure. Ended up catching 3 fish on first 5 casts and now I use that worm with and without sound, love to add cotton with Megabait scent inside, and I have had days it outproduces senkos, trickworms, etc... I always like clear soft colors since I want fish to hear and feel my bait near them....I dont want a bright bait in front of an inactive fish. A soft clear Green pumking, smoke, brown, silver, melon etc.. seems to trigger their curiousity and predatory insticnt when they are not hitting my senkos, sluggo's, Trick worms, or Power worms.

I never tried the worms you mentioned above. Going to order some now. I love trying new ideas and tricks. I love reading success stories, so when I try the same rig on the water, I expect a fish on each cast.....I am convinced that confidence is more important than color, and type of bait most of the time, if you are educated and at least in the ballpark with lures and size.

Which one? I always see the megatails on sale there. The plain ole rattlesnake is the better of two. which is what the OP was talking about
