These new reels look and sound great, has anyone held one yet or better yet have any field experience with them?  On a somewhat related note why does BPS not sell Okuma spinning reels?  I'd like to hold on before I pull the trigger, and with the classic coming up, and reel trade-in.....  If I can't get it a BPS there's a Cabela's on my way down, maybe they'll have them in.  Thanks for the help in advance.

I was checking on a Helios BC and noticed BPS does sell their reels bc & spinning just not the Helios. Maybe just maybe if I get lucky theyll have them at the store.

They lean towards saltwater stuff looks like.

I was playing with the rtx and helios at a fishing show today. There not bad, but i will definitely be sticking with my shimanos...

the only downside to Okuma is that they are hard to find and handle in person. There products are amazing, and there customer support is second to none. Real people in Californea answer the phones and return phone calls if you leave a message. they also are good at returning emails within a couple days.

Most of their better reels carry a one year warranty which is also nice. I think they make a solid product both in looks and performance.

I've been using the same Okuma Reels for going on 8 years now. Even with as much as I've used and abused them I've never had a problem with them. We've had to replace half of the Shimanos that I guide with due to mechanical issues. And they were less than two years old.

I just read a new review about the helios posted on tw about the rotor getting stuck on 2 reels. May want to wait.
