Those Dodges are great looking / performing trucks :) The diesel will be good for you guys with those heavy, high-per bass boats.

For myself, my 5.4L V8 is already way more than I need to pull my 14ft aluminum. I have literally forgot it was back there, then punched it, and jumped on the freeway going 70mph ! Doh ! It's 55mph with a trailer ! Back off, back off..... :)

Oh hey though, those new Dodges come available in a color somewhere between gold, and brown. One of the nicest stock paint colors on the road !

I have a 2004 v-8 Hemi with 120k and it's still running strong. Been an awesome pickup.

Should get some pretty impressive mpg's. I have a huntin buddy who gets 20mpg all around out of a 3/4 4x4 diesel.

That's a nice truck. I like all Dodges in general. Even the Dakotas, but the Rams are my favorites.

I thought Ram was officially its own brand now, and not Dodge anymore. Is this right?

That is right. Dodge got dropped when Dodge went broke and, and was bought by Fiat. So there just called Ram now. Like the old days.

What's funny is I never paid attention to Dodge trucks until I bought my Ram a year ago. I actually thought they were ugly. But after I drove mine I loved it and then their looks started growing on me really fast and now I can't believe I ever thought they were ugly at all. I think they are sharp looking. Some would say I jumped the band wagon because I got one but that's really not it. I think I was too hung up on Chevy to really give them a chance before. I bought this one because I needed a truck and it was a good price. I looked at a GMC but it was too high priced. The Ram was several thousand less and had the same features and mileage for a used truck. It was the better deal so I took it and it really impressed me and made me pay attention to the other previous and current models more. Now I'm finding I like the looks of the trucks clear back to the generation 1 styles. Who knew?

That is alot of miles, but not tremendous for a diesel. Our work trucks are diesels and they really arent broken in until you get 125k+ im not knocking the accomplishment of being above to reach the high mileage, but thats kinda one of the benifits of a diesel.

I mentioned in a different thread that i am considering a diesel, and not really because i am constantly hauling anything heavy for long distances. But for the Longevity it brings, and the strength and power to do whatever i want..and it would actually improve my fuel mileage from where it is now.

each diesel truck has it's own issues...

I bought mine knowing that the injections pumps were an issue... if the lift pump in the fuel tank goes south... i had to replace both pumps about 1 and half years after getting the truck... only other things I've had to replace were the alternator and the clutch... clutch was done do to the high horsepower and the weights i am hauling... oh yeah and on the second set of tires ... that gets spendy when you have to buy 6 of them...lol

Dang, sorry to here that. Sounds like you earned the 248k. My experience with diesels has been a good one so far (as far as work goes) i know that the mainentence and upkeep can be more expensive, but i generally look at the big picture and i really do think that the pros outweight the cons.
