The Rooster Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 Kentucky res.= $20 If you fish peabody = $15 seniors over 65 = $5Don't forget the optional trout permit at $10, and you aren't allowed to target them without it, though I do fish trout waters with a Roostertail, however I am aiming for bass. I don't care for trout, around here they just about always die while still on the hook. Very fragile species, being stocked instead of natural. Also we can have all the rods we want with no extra permits needed. When I worked at Walmart in the late 90's and early 2000's they started the electronic licensing system. When started, a SSN was the only way to buy it. When I quit in 2002, at that time a driver's license would work as an alternate ID, and even though a SSN would work also, they told us we weren't allowed to sell one without the state issued ID or driver's license to prove residency. Now in the last few years when I've bought my license I've been asked for my SSN, and even had to enter it into the machine myself (which was not done when I sold them). I've offered my driver's license for ID but have been told it was not needed. Licenses are good from March 1 to the last day of February the following year. No matter when you buy it. If you want to fish in February, you better have last year's license or you'll be buying it just to go for a few days, and then buying it again to fish the rest of the year. I heard more than a few complaints about that. You can buy a license to fish for the current year in February but it's not valid until March 1. I can't tell you the number of times I had people want to buy a license for a Valentine's Day gift and have it be good immediately, and last the whole year. Doesn't happen in KY. Quote
MacP Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 Tennessee Combination Hunting Fishing is $28.00... http://www.tennessee.gov/twra/fishlicense.html My three year boat registration over 16 foot boat is $71. Quote

Super User Bankbeater Posted March 17, 2014 Super User Posted March 17, 2014 Over the counter license costs $12.00. Online it costs a couple of bucks more. What I have done the past few years is get my permit from BPS and use my gift cards to pay for it. Quote
Super User WIGuide Posted March 17, 2014 Super User Posted March 17, 2014 Too much. Any other state mandate you provide your social security number to get your license ? Pretty sure you have to the first time in WI. After they have you in their file they use your DNR number. I guess I haven't heard of anyone refusing to provide theirs to know if they still got their licence or not. Quote
Super User WRB Posted March 18, 2014 Super User Posted March 18, 2014 What if you had say 5 rods ?You can have as many rods as you want, just fish with only 1 at a time unless you purchase the extra rod stamp, then you can have 2 lines in the water at the same time.If you plan to visit CA and fish the non resident license is $46.44* for 10 days and $124.77 if you stay longer, unless you are illegal, then everything is free! Tom *$46.44 is the same as basic resident lic. Quote

BeckieC Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 OK is $25 per yearJan-Dec or $225 for lifetime, there are additional fees for certain specified areas. No extra fee for trout or paddlefish but you must have a paddlefish stamp. No fees for extra rods but some bodies of water have rules/restrictions. You pretty much have to look up each areas specifics before you head out to new water. Most of the lakes are Corp of Engineers so there is a $3 per day launch fee or an annual pass is $30, valid for 12 months from purchase. No SSN required for the annual permit, just a state issued ID. The lifetime license requires an SSN. Quote
BeckieC Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 $0................. I sure do love having a combination lifetime hunting/fishing license since I was 18 We plan to buy our son a lifetime fishing license when he turns 16. Quote
McKinneyLonghorn Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 I am sure Texas has been mentioned, but I didn't want to read all six pages. We have a ton of different options here, but the basics are $30 for a freshwater license, $35 for a saltwater license or $40 for an all-water license. If you get a combo hunting and fishing, the prices are $50 for hunting and freshwater, $55 for hunting and saltwater and $60 for hunting and all water. Lifetime licenses are $1,000 for hunting or fishing, or $1,800 for both. Fortunately, I purchased my lifetime combo license 5 or 6 years ago when they cost $1,000. In 2009 they increased from that price to $1,800. When I bought it, I think I figured it would pay for itself (using 2008 prices) in 15 years (at the current price it would pay for itself in 28 years). Since I am only 31 I think I ended up with a pretty good deal. Quote
Super User Raul Posted March 19, 2014 Super User Posted March 19, 2014 In Mexico you need a permit only if you fish from a boat ( yes, a kayak qualifies as a boat ), the cost of the permit is $500 MN / year but it´s not state permit, it´s federal permit, you can fish in any state and it´s valid for fresh and saltwater. RipSomeLips Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 I hate all the permits I buy each year. Lots of lakes and counties require extra permits on top of the state permit. I got a tip for ya...If you buy your state park vehicle permit when you register your vehicle it only cost $15.50. The thing that kills me about these is that they are Vin specific, and depending on how far the trip is sometimes I take my wife's vehicle because it's way more fuel effecient. Hunt/fish combo-38.50 3 pole permit-6.50 trout-12 state park vehicle permit 20.50 3 year boat sticker for both my boats-32.50 each and then the lake permits start adding on Wyandotte Co non-resident fish/boat/trout-77 Johnson Co resident boat/fish-27 Plus I buy my year Non-resident for Missouri-40 with trout-7.50 Arkansas 7 day nonresident permit with trout for the White River-29 Oklahoma 6 day nonresident permit-38.50 Quote
Super User whitwolf Posted March 20, 2014 Super User Posted March 20, 2014 North Carolina: $15.00 freshwater fish. There's an additional fee for a trout stamp. I will be purchasing a saltwater license($15.00) this year as me and my (almost, April 12th) wife will be making several trips to the coast. Quote
