CoBass Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 Colorado base fishing license is $26. You are also required to buy a $10 habitat stamp and if you want to use a second rod that will cost you $5. The habitat stamp is only required on your first license of the year(hunting or fishing) so if you buy a small game, big game, and fishing license you only pay the $10 once. I don't hunt so my fishing license costs me $41 per year. Quote

tbone1993 Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 Too much. Any other state mandate you provide your social security number to get your license ? Yep Illinois does. $15 for a license AND 6.50 more for a salmon stamp. Though I like having the social security as a requirement. You would not believe how many illegal immigrants come in to buy fishing licenses. Quote
Super User Tuckahoe Joe Posted February 14, 2013 Super User Posted February 14, 2013 MD freshwater is 20.50 and the trout stamp is an extra 5 bucks Quote

CoBass Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 It surprises me how many states have a separate fee for trout. Our licenses are good from April-April and are good for all species. That jet skier tag is something I would definitely be willing to pay for. Quote
Super User Tuckahoe Joe Posted February 14, 2013 Super User Posted February 14, 2013 I don't know about other states but Im pretty sure the reason MD charges extra for trout is because they do a lot of stocking and the extra money goes into that. I could be wrong but Im pretty sure most of the trout in MD are stocked. 1 Quote

I'd be really happy if they stocked bass at even 5% of the numbers they stock trout at. In the states that have a trout fee, can you just not keep them if you don't have a stamp, or is it illegal to even target them without the stamp? Quote
