In KS it is $19.00 plus I get the Trout Permit just in case at another $11.00 = $30.00/year.

What do you pay in permits every year?

Colorado base fishing license is $26. You are also required to buy a $10 habitat stamp and if you want to use a second rod that will cost you $5. The habitat stamp is only required on your first license of the year(hunting or fishing) so if you buy a small game, big game, and fishing license you only pay the $10 once. I don't hunt so my fishing license costs me $41 per year.

That's OK - but each rod must have it's own Name and the names have to Rhyme.

Too much.

Any other state mandate you provide your social security number to get your license ?

Yep Illinois does. $15 for a license AND 6.50 more for a salmon stamp.   Though I like having the social security as a requirement. You would not believe how many illegal immigrants come in to buy fishing licenses.

Add in TWRA agency lakes $40 permits and various other watershed lake permits $20 on up and belong long it cost a few bucks to fish here.

It surprises me how many states have a separate fee for trout. Our licenses are good from April-April and are good for all species. That jet skier tag is something I would definitely be willing to pay for.

I don't know about other states but Im pretty sure the reason MD charges extra for trout is because they do a lot of stocking and the extra money goes into that.  I could be wrong but Im pretty sure most of the trout in MD are stocked.

Interesting. It's hard to find a lake around here that isn't stocked with trout. I'd be really happy if they stocked bass at even 5% of the numbers they stock trout at. In the states that have a trout fee, can you just not keep them if you don't have a stamp, or is it illegal to even target them without the stamp?
