trupp30 Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 Has anyone tried Spiderwire Invisbraid? If so, what are your thoughts of it? Is it a good product? Worth the price? If anyone has tried it please let me know what you think. Thanks. Quote
Super User OkobojiEagle Posted February 12, 2013 Super User Posted February 12, 2013 I fish 15lb Ulta-Cast... Is it invisible...No... Good braid... Yes... Worth the price... I think so oe Quote
Super User slonezp Posted February 13, 2013 Super User Posted February 13, 2013 I spooled it up once years ago. Had problems all day with the braid cutting into itself and snapping. Took it off when I got home Quote
Super User MarkH024 Posted February 13, 2013 Super User Posted February 13, 2013 Invisabraid is what has kept me from every trying any spiderwire products again. Way to stiff for a braid. Not for me....no thanks. I use 832 or regular Sufix braid. Quote
TiNuts Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 I've used it for a while. Switched to power pro, then to SW stealth (didn't care for it at all), SW ultimate braid. I haven't tried 832 yet, but hopefully will this year. The invisibraid has been my favorite so far. I haven't had any problems with it breaking, I did with power pro. It is a little stiff new, but softens up over time. I've been able to cast it the best/farthest out of the rest and it "feels" smoother flowing through the guides. Ultimate braid seems pretty good too, but I haven't actually used it much. My only complaint really is that it looks dirty and brown after a while. Not much of an issue though really. Quote
Super User Raider Nation Fisher Posted February 14, 2013 Super User Posted February 14, 2013 Its always worked great for me. Ive been using it on certain reels for the last three years and have had no problems with it. Cast good and has not let me down yet. Quote
PondBoss Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 If used in clear water it's very good. The white will get stained if used in dirty water. I was fishing it the other day in a pretty clear pond and once it gets under the water you have to look really hard to see it. My guess is that it has the same visibility in the water as mono. With the smaller diameters you get with braid I'd say it's a great clear water braid. Quote
Super User Teal Posted February 14, 2013 Super User Posted February 14, 2013 I havent tried it. Im content with Spiderwire Ultra Cast. The best braid ive tried so far. If i was really concerned about line visability, I would use a Fluoro leader. Quote
Super User OkobojiEagle Posted February 14, 2013 Super User Posted February 14, 2013 Teal... I believe Invisabraid is un-dyed Ultra-Cast. I've been disappointed since Pure Fishing discontinued my favorite... hi-vis yellow Ultra-Cast. oe Quote
Super User Teal Posted February 14, 2013 Super User Posted February 14, 2013 You can find yellow ultra cast on e bay. Quote
Super User OkobojiEagle Posted February 14, 2013 Super User Posted February 14, 2013 Thanks Teal, I'll look, but it must be 3 or 4 years old. oe Quote
johnD. Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 It's all I use on my spinnig rods ,both inshore saltwater and bass..for baitcaster I still use regular power pro ,not that new stuff. Quote
