Xcalibur XR50 Rattle Bait questions

Wondering what everyone thinks of these. I went over to Basspro.com and read the reviews. Most everyone in those reviews says this bait is AWESOME and is a fish slayer.

Anyone have any personal experiences to add about these baits?

They are awesome baits.  The XCaliburs have replaced the RedEye Shads in my arsenal for the most part.  I like the XR75's mostly but I have a bunch of the XR50's as well.  You can bet your butt I'll be slingin' one on Guntersville this weekend.

Ive got a Royal Red and a Gold/Black Back on their way as we speak.

Don't like them for what I look for in a lipless crank. 

They only work reeled fast. 

If you drop them to the bottom, they just flop over on their side, and if you reel them slowly, they don't wiggle at all. 

If it's just the shape you like, I would get a YoZuri Rattlin' Vibe instead.  Much better action.

Great bait IMO.  I caught many many fish last spring with Rayburn Red.

Don't tell that to my wife, I've told her there is a reason I carry several brands of baits, sizes colors etc.     My opinion of the Excalibur line is it is a productive bait when ripping it through grass, the fish seem to really respond to the sound that this bait makes. That said I prefer the SK Red Eye Shad, Yozuri, Sebile & Spro for other applications and would probably rank the Excalibur just behind those other baits.

Lucky Craft LVR, Sebile Flatt Shad 77, River 2 Sea

and Rapala Clackin' Rap.

Just saying, the XCalibur is very productive!

It's a fantastic bait. With that being said I own many different lipless crankbaits because sometimes the XCalibur series isn't what their wanting, weather that be because of the sound or the profile.

The only lipless crank I've used to date that I could actually get by with in any condition would be the Jackall TN/70, followed by the 1/2 oz. Cotton Cordell Spot.

In terms of design and versatility, the XCalibur isn't a dot on a line compared to the Jackall.

I fish rocks, steep breaks, and timber though....I need a bait that can stand on it's nose and work at any/every speed.

If Jackall would make a larger version of the TN/70 - I would dance a jig......naked......and tip a pint of Guinness with the first person I could find.

Both of the XR50's I purchased on Ebay came in the mail today...Boy are they purty.

Ive got a Gold/Black back and a Royal Red. Beautiful baits. Hope the fish catching abilities are on course with the looks of these.

What kind of action do these have on the fall?  Anything similar to the Strike King Redeye Shad?

i like the xr50 and the xr25 .. but sometimes the bill lewis blue / chrome does the trick..

My Spro Aruku Shad and TN/70 always out produce my XR50s. BUT, when they don't take the Aruku or tn/70, they usually will take the xr50.

Jon, what is your best lipless as far as weedy, clear lakes for slow rolling, or ripping thru weeds?

For me, here on St. Clair, the Xr50 rules. I rarely use any of my other brands of lipless cranks.

Do they have a tennessee shad color in xr 50?if so is it named differently.
