Topwaterspook Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Just a ""heads-up, folks. Our local Dick's has slashbaits for $7.99 At least a buck cheaper than elsewhere. Quote
Comfortably Numb Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 Is that the one he says runs more eraticlly? Quote
Comfortably Numb Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 Found this, so I guess it is the one I was thinking of. Quote
Super User Hooligan Posted February 12, 2013 Super User Posted February 12, 2013 It's a very good bait in the larger size. I'm not overly fond of the two hook model. Both are erratic, both have good characteristics in terms of how wide they dart, and both have decent depths. I've had some trouble with pinning fish on the two hook, so I don't have a lot of faith in it. Rather fish a Pointer or McStick 95. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted February 12, 2013 Global Moderator Posted February 12, 2013 I haven't gotten to fish them a lot but they've done well the couple times I've used them. Seems like they run just a tad deeper than similar sized baits. Quote
mcipinkie Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 The three hook is almost exactly like a LC Slender Pointer. If you like them, you'll like the SK. I haven't used the two hook models. I have enough Pointer 100's for that niche. Good lures though. Quote
Quillback Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 BPS will have them on sale for $7.97 during the Spring Classic. Quote
WartownBassin Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 I've been fishing the two hook model for about a week now and haven't missed a strike yet. They work very well, run at a pretty good depth and are eratic. The hooks are razor sharp too. overall I think its a great bait. Quote
Super User Hooligan Posted February 14, 2013 Super User Posted February 14, 2013 The three hook is almost exactly like a LC Slender Pointer. If you like them, you'll like the SK. Very, very different baits under the water, as well as in profile. The 2 hook is very different from the Pointer 100, as well. Dive depth, suspension, and roll. I wouldn't even begin to compare the KVD to the Pointer series baits. The pointers are loads better. Quote
