Pp Super Lick 8

Has anyone tried this yet? Also thinking of getting some for a spinning reel and also some for crankbait fishing what size do you guys recommend? Thinking of getting 20lb for the spin setup don't know what to get for shallow cranking. The spin setup would be for senko fishing docks and such. The crank setup would be for shallow squarebills. Does this stuff sink faster than mono or float more? They also have some different colors what color is best. I like the timber brown and the yellow but would be afraid of the yellow standing out. I do not intend on using any leaders of any type. Sorry but I am really uninformed when it comes to braid!

I also thought of using it for spinnerbait fishing too. Again I know nothing about braid but I think it would benefit me to start using some!

I actually prefer the regular power pro. For colors, I stick with red or green...

I used the 10# high vis yellow last year for a bit. I didn't think it was anything special. I went back to 832 now that they offer high vis yellow.

Been tempted by the Super Slick, but am quite satisfied with regular PP, especially given the price difference. Just picked up 10 and 20 lb PP on sale at BPS, so should be set for a while now.

I have it on my spinning reels in the timber brown.  The color fades just as fast as all the other braids.  The waxy slickness is great for handling but wears off just like the other braids.  It has more strands in its weave so its alot like 832.  I find it as poorly abrasion resistant as all the other braids.  I bought 3 spools.  The first one was a nice dark brown, the next 2 were only about half as dark and lost their color quicker.

I have it and love it alot smoother then regular power pro. It does fade but no more or less the regular power pro.

I use 30lb ss8 for small to mid cranks and 40lb for heavier cranks and spinnerbaits. Awesome sensitivity, and I feel that the smoothness helps in further casting.

Be sure to use a mono or fluoro leader for the shock absorption when fish surge at the boat.

With a leader, color fade is a non-issue.

As said before performance wise and color fastness you won't gain anything over other braids. However it is by far the smoothest and quietest braid I've used or seen including sufix 832. For me this is enough to warrant the price. I will continue to use it until I find something smoother.

Used it on my bait caster and spinning reel all last year and had no problems with it.  Performed really well mainly just fishing jigs and soft plastics with it.

Not as good as the old stuff imo. I tried the slick 8 on my saltwater spinning reel, it seperated and twisted pretty bad..invisbraid or 832 braid on my reels.

 

Did anybody see that show Beyond the Cast with JP DeRose ? He tested 5 or 6 braided lines and he comfirmed that super slick 8 was the best.

No surprise there , isn't he sponsered by shimano/power pro....Com'on man !
