Ok maybe a dumb question but I've never used these before and I wanted to order some from Tackle Warehouse along with some other soft baits. I was wondering if you guys could suggest a certain color? Our water here right now and until the late summer is a deep green with a visiblity of about ~2ft. I usually use watermelon Red, pumpkinseed, junebug, and watermelon. And some varieties beyond those. I know there is really no such thing as a "Perfect" Color so I was just wondering what you have liked in the past?

Somebody told me RW did a write up on how to fish these or something? Could somebody post a link to the write up?

THANKS GUYS

How would a 3/0 or 5/0 Gamakatsu EWG worm hook work? I have plenty of those

Just make sure the hook is big enough to penetrate the ika and get a good hook in, they are some pretty meaty baits.

I have just started to use Fat Ika as well, and 5/0 is too big to rig them. Never tried the 3/0.

i've had luck with all the colors. in muddy water, go darker...in clear water, go lighter. i really like the clear with gold and silver flake in clear water...very shad-like. while you're at it, you might want to try out the damiki hydra.

4/0 Owner wide gap plus is the best hook for this bait IMO.I've tried the Gamakatsu 4/0 and it doesn't hold a candle to the owner

I also like the black/blue tail for dirtier water. That color comes in the Kinami palm tree...same bait.
