Small Boat Purchase Recommendations?

Ok, looks like I have a budget of 2k to buy a small motor fishing boat.  Here are some I'm looking at right now and was wondering if it's worth it.  Right now, I have these two as my favorites:

Since I never had a boat like this, is there anything I should be looking for when I ask to take a look at it?  On another note even the used market up here in Canada sucks!  So much better in the US.  (American who moved to Canada because wife wanted to raise the kids away from NYC!, Well I tried to convince her to move back to the Seattle area, but no avail!)  Anyway, thanks for any input anyone can give me.

Make sure it floats, and the motor runs good. Your getting it cheap enough where some upgrades/repairs won't break you. A nice fishing boat doesn't have to put you in debt for 10 years, have fun, and enjoy.

I personally would be looking for an aluminum boat.  Some of these old glass boats can be more trouble than they're worth.  Get a test drive on the water.  Anything seems questionable, back away.

I think theres no outboard involved in the sale. Notice how they dont show pics of the back of the boat? also there is no specs of motor. I suggest you get a boat with an outboard if the budget allows you to.

I'll second the tin boat suggestion.  Of the first two, the second would make a better fishing platform, but, what concerns me is the motor.  It looks like the lower unit was never tilted up at the end of the day.  The lower part looks like it has been encrusted with dried slime and who know what else.

 

In and of itself, that won't damage the motor, but it is an indicator that the owner(s) couldn't be bothered to get the lower unit above the water level.  What else might they have neglected?
