Something I have been noticing for a long time is my Twitter account is not very active compared to my Facebook.

On Twitter it seems like it is almost only my Mixed Martial Arts friends and all of my Bass fishing friends are on Facebook.

Which do you use?

Neither. I dunno how to twit. There is not enough gold in China to get me to use facebook. Until my brother electricians and brother ironworkers start using it. I will have to say there is nothing for me there. I use fishbook (aka bass resource), a electrician forum, as well as a ironworker forum, and sometimes a general contractor forum.

Twitter is nice. I use it mainly for sports and sports reporters. I am kinda obsessive wih college basketball and want up to the second info at times. When Peyton Manning made the decision to sign with Denver, it was on twitter about 10 minutes before it was on sports center.

Not a big deal, but it's cool once in awhile. I have bait companies do giveaways and such there as well.

I'm with Raider Nation on this one. I have no use for either service. One thing a lot of people don't realize is how much of a negative effect social media can have on your life. One of the first things most employers do when deciding if they are going to hire you is to search for you on social media sites. One stupid tweet or one odd picture or post on Facebook can be the difference between you getting a job and being passed over. People are also getting themselves fired  for stupid things they post on social media sites. Just last week a local school teacher was put on administrative leave and might be fired for pictures and comments she posted on twitter.

Pretty much the same here. Sports, sports reporters, teams, etc.

This is why my account is private on twitter. I don't have a facebook.

That's why I never had one but now mine is 90% my kids the rest are fishing pictures and only a few of me. I don't update it with every detail of my life and gripe about things on it. I mostly created it to stay in touch with all the guys I just deployed with now that were all stateside and spread all over. That and everything seems to be tied to FB I can't enter to win some d**n plastic baits without being a member of FB it was annoying and everyone releases to FB first.

Haven't had the desire to be on Twitter but I do use Facebook.  I'm a member of a few groups where the members are from my elementary and high school, it's great to see what some of these people have been doing the last 50 years and where they are living.

like a couple others i only use twitter for sports and sports updates.

Any breaking sports news is going to be tweeted before it goes on air or on the reporters respective website...

I have a facebook page, but rarely if ever use it........just not my thing. As for twitter, I don't feel the need to let the whole world know every time I take a wiz , scratch myself, or discover a new use for used fabric softener sheets...........so thats a NO on twitter.

No twitter. I used to be on facebook. I just got sick of all of the the drama queens and all of the bullcrap that goes along with it. My wife says that Bass Resource is a fishermans facebook. I can live with that

I have a twitter, and a facebook.

Facebook is for family, and posting things that they would be "ok" knowing.

Twitter is a place for me and my friends to say whatever we want, because parents haven't "ruined" it yet.

Another reason I prefer Twitter over facebook is because on FB most of my newsfeed now is stupid pictures that say "Like if you believe in god, ignore if you want to go to hell" or something stupid like that. Also on Twitter you can tweet some famous or relatively famous and actually get a reply within a few hours.

Also my twitter is protected, along with my FB I believe

I agree there is WAY TOO MUCH drama and stupid stuff on facebook but I also believe it can be a valuable tool. I block

as much stuff like that as I can. If someone posts way to much junk I just hide them from showing up on my news feed.

I just think it is odd how I have 20 times more people on my facebook than my twitter.

It almost looks to me like fishermen don't use twitter and opt for facebook.
