I have been experimenting with shaker blades, and came up with this. I really like this one, it has a split ring attached to the jig, and a hook attached to the split ring. You can choose your own hook size and style, and it acts kind of like the megastrike spinners, where it swivels around and cant be thrown easily.

Well that's thinking out of the box. Very creative. I'm curious how well that works with the hook moving around?

Right now every time I cast it,it bounces on the ice.  :cry4: I'll let you know when we get some soft water up here.Swimming it in the bathtub doesn't do it justice.

Very Good. I made this in 2011 in anticipation of the lead ban in MA for 2012. It's not your traditional jig, but pretty darn close to it and ithe swiveling hook section responded very well. If you think of it, cadman, nothing more than a compact pegged t-rigged worm with a plastic chunk instead of a worm.

Well well, looks like I stole another idea, seems to be a trend with me. John, just have your trademark lawyer contact me and we can work out the compensation.

Not at all, I never got into the chatterbait craze...tried to, but I sucked at it. I like that bait you made. I never would have thought of putting a blade in front of it, to be honest with you.

Nice job my friend!

Notice I called it a shaker blade bait, not that copyrighted word you used, I learned my lesson thanks to a certain lure manufacturer owner.

Nice ideas guys. definitely something different. Don't worry Spring will be here soon and we'll all be back on the water. I remember a couple of years ago when the chatterbait hit . There were so many copies it wasn't even funny. Many of the luremakers I know were getting cease and desist letters from the chatterbait lawyers. What a fiasco. I never got into them either. I have a couple of the originals and never caught a bass on it.

Playing around with you idea, sacrificed an old spinner bait, obviously you can use whatever blades you want, but I just used the ones that were on this one not sure how it would turn out, maybe it will work

I had to cadman, I was faced with a lead ban law and, at the time, a twindling income. I had some terminal tackle laying about, some material and I decided to take on the lead ban. Most ideas don't come about unless your faced with a crisis right? I can't give back my jig just yet, so I made that bogus primitive thing... :Idontknow:

A local fisherman made some like that last year with the hook attached to an o ring. Unfortunately it did not work as hoped, in fact there was way less action of the bait. The hook being able to swing free of the lead head allows the lead head to move while the hook stays relatively still. We were both disappointed.
