Super User Tuckahoe Joe Posted February 7, 2013 Super User Posted February 7, 2013 I was doing some yard work today and look what came walking up to me. We walked all around the neighborhood knocking on doors and no one recognized her. Took her up the road to the Humane Society and they scanned her to see if she had one of those Pet Tracker microchips but nothing. They said we could leave her but we figured theres too many dogs in shelters as it is so we brought her back home and were gonna put up some flyers. Im hoping we find her owner cuz I know how I would feel if I lost my dog. We probably won't be able to keep her for long cuz she's being really territorial and my Austrailian Shpherd seems like he's terrified of her. Quote
Super User Teal Posted February 7, 2013 Super User Posted February 7, 2013 Post her up on facebook. I found a dog and put her on facebook and got her home within a couple days. Quote
Super User Tuckahoe Joe Posted February 7, 2013 Author Super User Posted February 7, 2013 I would but I don't use Facebook. Maybe I should make an account though just to try and get this dog home. Quote
Super User Teal Posted February 7, 2013 Super User Posted February 7, 2013 If you have a friend who has alot of local people on facebook, get them to post. Word gets around quick Quote

endless Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 Pretty dog! I wish you luck on finding the owner or whatever your choices are after, If giving to a good home or deciding on keeping her. Quote
Super User Tuckahoe Joe Posted February 7, 2013 Author Super User Posted February 7, 2013 Found the owner. They lived right across the road from us. Can't believe I'd never seen the dog before. They called the Humane Society and they gave them our number. Glad she's back where she belongs. The people seemed really happy to to get her back. I know my Aussie is glad she's gone. She was only here a couple hours and claimed his food, toys, the couch and me for herself. 2 Quote
endless Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 That's good I'm glad she was able to return home. Quote

We will probably take him as my son and his wife don't have time for him now that they have two kids. His name is Simmy and he is a 14-year old blue merle. A beautiful dog. He has also lost his hearing but that has not slowed him down. Aussies are great dogs. Glad you have one. Quote

He's not vicious or aggressive. Just scared of his own shadow. They definitly have a ton of energy. He can't sit still even after we take him to the park and run him around for a few hours. We had one a few years ago that was 15 and we tried to take it easy on him when we went to the park but he'd still try and run up all kinds of steep rocky terrain. And they're too smart for their own good. I swear Im suprised this dog doesn't talk. I wish I had a picture but he runs and hides whenever I point a camera at him. Quote

The Rooster Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 That was the ugliest dog I've ever seen. Quote
The Rooster Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 I'd still pet it. My mother-in-law has one with a face like that. Not sure what breed it is but it has hair like a mop, a short stubby nose, bug eyes, and just looks hideous, but it's lovable and likes to sit on your lap and be rubbed so I do every time I go visit. I saw one I'd like to have recently. It was called a Jack in the Box. It's a cross between a Jack Russell and a Boxer. It looked like a miniature boxer with more coarse hair and a very pronounced underbite. That dog was cool looking. Quote
endless Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 Might have to look up the Jack in the Box! Like the name. I miss a small lap dog. We had a toy poodle I absolutely loved but when me and the wife was having problems she get rid of Lucy. It killed me to know she did that. Quote
scrutch Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 We have a Jack Russell that just turned fourteen on Groundhog Day. Easily the coolest dog I've ever had. Quote
