As spring approaches, im stocking up on lures :angel-devil: Bass pro Shop has a sale on Lucky Craft Baits. The new ones (2013) and older ones. Reg price from 15 to 20 bucks. Most are 3 to 4 bucks off each. I have used berkleys jerk baits. Recently reading reviews I have discovered Lucky Craft Crank baits run more true and better action.

My conditions im fishing: Ponds 7 to 13 ft deep, Lakes 7 to 50 feet deep. I will be fishing these in early spring when ice thaws. Water temp would be 38 to 42 degrees (late march). Most likey be fishing from 5 ft to 10 ft of water at most. WIll be keeping them near bottom. Largemouth Bass from 2 to 5 pounds.

I was thinking of getting the Lucky Craft Staysee 90 SP and the Lucky Craft Slender Pointer.

My question is: Are these good Choices? Also what size would u prefer and color?

mostly points, with drop offs. Might be some grass around but since its winter and when its spring there will be less of grass. So mostly points with drop offs.

I'd suggest a couple 78 points also in your line up. Chartreuse shad, American shad, Tennessee shad, crack, and Skeet's magic are some of my favorite colors.

I'd be fishing the Pointer's and Slender Pointer's more than the Staycee over that structure.

Thanks for the advice, will do this. The staysee is a pointer right?

The Staysee is a different bait than the Pointer.  Here's a Pointer 100DD (top) and a Staysee 90SP Ver2:

Is that a new green for 2013?

I've never seen it, but I like it!

I'd definitely pick up an XD 78 or three :fishing1:

Got this girl on a 78 (Pearl Threadfin shad) a couple of weeks ago.

Pointer 75 & 100 and Slender Pointer 97 will run 5' - 7' deep... Staycee 90 will run 8' - 10' deep.  I think you'll have better success suspending your jerkbait a couple feet above the bass.  I also prefer my jerkbaits to suspend perfectly horizontal and walk as horizontal as possible.  The Staycee suspends nose down and doesn't walk as smoothly as the Pointers.  (I've never used the DD Pointers or XD Pointers)

I like the Table Rock Shad color.  When the lakes around me to from winter clear to a little more dingy in the spring, that color works for me.

The XD 78 pointers are only 3" long & weigh 1/3 oz. The pointer 100 dd is 4" long & weigh 5/8 oz. I prefer the bigger bait unless your trying to mimic some 3" bait.

That's the northern pike pattern.  I purchased it a few years back at a Cabela's here in WI.
